· Star Power with Stephen Baldwin ("The Usual Suspects") and Multiple Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly (TV's "Judging Amy")
SYNOPSIS
For many years, Homicide Detective Caleb Barnes (Baldwin) has lived every day with the ever-changing face of evil. Before, he almost always could keep it at a professional distance. Since the accidental death of his only child, that detachment is impossible to maintain. When he returns to work, Caleb is haunted by nightmares of losing his son and by the reflection of that loss in the routine horror of his work. And at all times, he knows that his wife Mary's grief is tearing them apart and that it could destroy them both unless he can somehow comprehend it, make it right. Caleb's need becomes an obsession, and finds its expression in the search for a killer in a bizarre series of crimes with disparate victims, an elderly farm couple, a middle-aged waitress on the graveyard shift, a drug-ravaged dependent of a store-front church, a seemingly random harvest of violence. As the pace of killing escalates, and Mary's will to live ebbs, time is running out for Caleb. He is powerless to stop his wife's attempts at suicide or to insulate his emotions from the daily toll exacted by wanton carnage.

Elite Entertainment brings Jess Franco's most notorious work to DVD. Never in his impressive career of more than 150 films has Jess Franco explored with such brutal frankness and honesty the disturbing case of Jack the Ripper. Unlike most of Franco's films, which labored under meager finances, JACK THE RIPPER received what could only be considered a lavish budget from European sleaze-king producer Erwin C. Dietrich. Even Klaus Kinski, bad boy of bad cinema, took the role seriously, rendering one of his best performances as the tortured doctor who is drawn to murder and dismember the prostitutes of Victorian England. Hypnotic its adults-only savagery, JACK THE RIPPER is a hallmark for the three men -- Franco, Kinski and Dietrich -- who always made it a point to shock the complacent viewer. Costarring Josephine Chaplin (in a role her father Charlie would definitely not have approved of) and Franco's main squeeze, Lina Romay. Presented in it's original aspect ratio of 1.66:1 from a flawless 35mm print, this important DVD will also contain Rare Stills, Lobby Cards and Extensive Liner Notes.

THE WINSLOW BOY AND LOVE STINKS COME TO DVD
BOTH TITLES DAY/DATE WITH VHS RELEASES
On February 1, 2000 Columbia TriStar Home Video will release the following two titles on DVD:
THE WINSLOW BOY
Director (David Mamet) and Cast (Jeremy Northam, Nigel Hawthorne and Rebecca Pidgeon) Commentary
`Making-Of' Featurette
Talent Files (David Mamet, Rebecca Pidgeon, Nigel Hawthorne and Jeremy Northam)
SYNOPSIS
England, 1912. The Winslow family arrives home from church in time for a carefully orchestrated meeting between Arthur Winslow (Nigel Hawthorne, Amistad), the proud patriarch, and John Watherston, the young man set to marry Arthur's daughter Catherine (Rebecca Pidgeon, The Spanish Prisoner), an ardent suffragette. As plans are made for their lives together, Arthur, his wife Grace (Gemma Jones, Sense and Sensibility), Catherine, her eldest brother Dickie (Matthew Pidgeon), John and Desmond Curry (Colin Stinton, Tomorrow Never Dies), the family lawyer and Catherine's admirer, drink Maderia in celebration of the union. Just after the family toasts, Arthur discovers that his youngest son, Ronnie (Guy Edwards, Jackie), is back early from the Naval College at Osbourne - dismissed for stealing a five shilling postal note. Arthur asks his son if he is guilty; Ronnie swears he is innocent. Arthur dedicates himself to clearing his son of the charges. After obtaining no satisfaction from the school, he decides to retain the well- known attorney, Sir Robert Morton (Jeremy Northam, An Ideal Husband). Since he is a conservative opposed to women's suffrage, Catherine is opposed to hiring Morton. In Sir Robert's chambers Desmond explains their predicament: the legal assumption is that the Admiralty and the Crown can do no wrong and cannot be sued. However, by a matter of grace, such a petition can be granted by the Attorney General, allowing the case to come to court. As the Members of Parliament argue the case in the House of the Lords, Catherine diligently keeps watch from the Women's Gallery. The whole affair is taking its toll on Grace. She explains to Arthur how she misses the tranquillity of their once happy home, and how the case is taxing Arthur's health. She questions his motives for proceeding, suggesting pride and self-importance. Catherine receives a letter from John Watherstone's father, stating if the case continues, he will block the match between Catherine and his son. Later, Catherine and John have a painfully frank discussion of their future, and she agrees that she will drop the case and marry John. At the House of Lords, the Petition of Right is suddenly granted. When a jubilant Sir Robert asks, "Well, Miss, what are my instructions?" Catherine replies "Aren't they already on the petition? Doesn't it say Let Right Be Done?" Time has passed. The national interest in the case continues to grow, provoking a media frenzy. John breaks off his engagement to Catherine and marries a more suitable woman. Arthur's health continues to deteriorate. Grace occupies herself with her courtroom wardrobe. Dickie joins the Territorials amid talk of the coming war. Just as the entire family is coming to terms with its doubts about the case and their future, a decision is rendered in the case.

BEFORE THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT THERE WAS THE LAST BROADCAST
Ventura Distribution Proudly Presents THE LAST BROADCAST Available Day and Date on Home Video and DVD In Stores November 30
Said to be the inspiration and model for THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, much media attention has been given to THE LAST BROADCAST.
This haunting thriller tells the story of a group of young men - the hosts of a cable access show, along with two fans - who went into the Pine Barrens of New Jersey on December 15, 1995, planning a live broadcast of their search for the legendary Jersey Devil.
But only one man came out alive. It took the police two days to find the bodies and the coroner four days to put the pieces back together again. In only one-and-a-half hours, the jury sentenced the soul survivor to life in prison. One year later, filmmaker David Leigh decided to make a film about it.

And though he is the only star of this hilarious show, he's never alone on stage. With him is his amazing array of characterizations as he talks about his trip to Africa in search of his "roots," his early days playing one-night gigs in Mafia-owned clubs and strip joints and numerous other outrageous topics. Finally, he talks about "Pryor on Fire," a recounting of the accident which nearly took his life, an episode he relates with wit and a touch of poignancy.

DIGITAL LEISURE RELEASES SPACE ACE FOR DVD-ROM
GORMLEY, Ontario--Nov. 2, 1999--Digital Leisure today began shipping SPACE ACE DVD-ROM, the much awaited follow-up to Dragon’s Lair. With it’s release of SPACE ACE, DVD-ROM owners can now bring the full arcade experience to their home computers as Ace battles the evil Commander Borf.
As one of the first animated video games in history, SPACE ACE features non-stop video entertainment. The evil Commander Borf has kidnapped Ace’s girlfriend, the beautiful Kimberly, and is plotting to enslave the Earth using his dreaded "Infanto Ray", a weapon that changes everyone it blasts into a helpless baby. Game enthusiasts can choose to guide Ace, or his weak alter-ego Dexter, through Borf’s strongholds to find and destroy the Infanto Ray, rescue Kimberly and save the Earth.
SPACE ACE, the classic laser-disc based arcade game, features spectacular quality animation created by Don Bluth, a former Disney animator famous for his work on An American Tail, The Land Before Time and he also co-directed the more recent blockbuster Anastasia. In addition to the fully playable game, the SPACE ACE DVD-ROM release contains exclusive interviews with Bluth and Rick Dyer, co-creators and designers of the game. A special "Watch" option allows players to view the entire game without requiring moves to be made.
"SPACE ACE is even more interactive and fast-paced than Dragon’s Lair, allowing the player the choose to play either Ace or Dexter on the fly," Elizabeth Foster, President of Digital Leisure said. "And we’ve spent a great deal of time ‘deinterlacing’ the video for the entire game to eliminate the motion flicker that you sometimes see when DVD video is viewed on computer monitors."
Following the release of SPACE ACE DVD-ROM, Digital Leisure plans to release DRAGON’S LAIR II: TIME WARP for DVD-Video and DVD-ROM later in November. DRAGON’S LAIR and SPACE ACE are now available for DVD-Video, DVD-ROM and CD-ROM formats.

THE
THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR
Thrill-seeking billionaire Thomas
Crown (Pierce Brosnan) loves nothing more than courting disaster -and
winning! When he pulls off his boldest stunt ever: stealing a priceless
painting -- in broad daylight -his post-heist excitement soon pales beside

realizes he's finally met his match, she skillfully leads him into a daring
game of cat and mouse that's more intoxicating -- and dangerous -- than
anything either of them has ever experienced before.
THE
EXTREME ADVENTURES OF SUPER DAVE
After a near fatal
accident, Super Dave hangs up his crash-pads to operate his own theme park
and coach a promising young stuntman. But as The Super One soon discovers,
he's been bankrupted by his swindling manager, betrayed by his new young
prot6g6, and foreclosed by the bank. When Super Dave finds strength in a
klutzy-but-cute single mom and her ailing young son, who needs an expensive
heart operation, he faces-off against his deceivers and arch enemy to once
again prove to the world that he's not only the most outrageous dare-devil
... he's also the most accident-prone!
