Jerry (Mantegna), a two-bit gangster on probation, is given a chance for redemption by guarding Gino for the weekend. But instead of sitting around a dingy hotel room, Jerry decides to give Gino a weekend to remember, taking him to Lake Tahoe. Jerry's bragging to his friends of his important charge, as well as Gino's dignified, quiet demeanor, soon result in much complication for them both.

On April 25, 2000 Columbia TriStar Home Video will release on videocassette and DVD, FORTRESS 2: RE-ENTRY.  The action packed, sci-fi thriller sequel to Fortress.

SYNOPSIS

In the not so distant future, Earth is controlled by a giant corporation called Men-Tel.  After escaping from a maximum-security prison known as The Fortress, renegade John Brennick (Lambert) and his wife and son are fugitives on the run again.  But Brennick is soon apprehended again and is placed in a futuristic state-of-the-art maximum-security prison completed by Men-Tel.  Orbiting 26,000 miles from Earth, the prison houses the planet's most fierce criminals, forcing them to perform dreaded space labor amidst meteor showers and other harsh elements.  Here, Brennick is locked down by hi-tech security jail cells and surrounded by an elaborate system of computer surveillance devices including a camera placed inside his body.  If Brennick ever wants to be re-united with his wife and son, he has no hope but to try and escape, an idea that was never thought possible, until now.

GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER RKO 281 AVAILABLE ON DVD THROUGH HBO HOME VIDEO APRIL 25

From Executive Producers Tony Scott ("Enemy of the State") and Ridley Scott ("Thelma and Louise"), RKO 281, winner of the Golden Globe award for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, is available through HBO Home Video April 25. The all-star cast includes Liev Schreiber ("Scream 1 & 2", 'The Hurricane"), James Cromwell ("The Green Mile"), Melanie Griffith ("Crazy in Alabama"), and John Malkovich ("Being John Malkovich"), as well as Brenda Blethyn ("Little Voice") and Academy Award winner Roy Scheider. RKO 281 is available on DVD for $19.98 SRP and on VHS. Order date is April 4. This release is rated R and has a running time of 87 minutes.

"Filled with exceptionally strong performances," raved the Hollywood Reporter. "Sleek looking, well acted," hailed Entertainment Weekly while the Atlanta Journal calls RKO 281, "A lush symphony of a film about an American classic."

RKO 281 is the true story of the making of "Citizen Kane"- the film that topped the American Film Institute's list of the 100 Best Films of all time. The Orson Welles-directed "Citizen Kane," then known as RKO 281, was loosely based on the life of newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst. But not loosely enough-- the media titan wanted it destroyed before the public could ever see it.  The struggle that ensued between Welles and Hearst over "Citizen Kane," rich with tales of blackmail and threats behind closed doors, is revealed in RKO 281.

RKO 281 is directed by Benjamin Ross ("The Young Poisoner's Handbook") from a script by John Logan ("Gladiator," "On Any Given Sunday"). The script is based, in part, on the documentary "The Battle Over Citizen Kane" from the PBS series "The American Experience." Ridley Scott ("Thelma and Louise") and Tony Scott ("Enemy of the State") are executive producers; Diane Minter Lewis ("G.I. Jane") and Chris Zarpas ("Clay Pigeons") are co-executive producers; Su Armstrong ("Good Will Hunting") is producer. RKO 281 is a Scott Free Production.

THE MALTESE FALCON (available February 15, catalogue #65012, $24.98)
Bogart shot to stardom as sleuth Sam Spade in this John Huston's breakthrough detective mystery. Recently selected by the American Film Institute as the film most representative of Bogart's career, the digitally re-mastered DVD features an all-new introduction and a documentary Becoming Attractions: The Trailers of Humphrey Bogart, which traces Bogart's Warner Bros. career. The original theatrical trailer and limited edition collector's cards are also included.

Following are additional highlights of the February release schedule:
