CHRIS BOTTI & FRIENDS NIGHT SESSIONS LIVE IN CONCERT

Shawn Colvin is featured on the Sting-penned "All Would Envy" and her original "The Facts About Jimmy." Sting performs "In The Wee Small Hours" and "Moon Over Bourbon Street".

Additional DVD special features include a Photo Gallery, and interviews with Chris Botti, Sting and Shawn Colvin.

"Sting's performance was spectacular and Shawn's contribution was sensational creating a night of musical magic. I've been fortunate to have played with some fantastic performers in recent years - both on stage and on my albums, but this night stands among the most memorable," says the trumpeter.

The night was a critical success as well. LA TIMES Jazz critic, Don Heckman called Botti, "Visually charismatic, musically engaging and appealingly personable."

Phil Gallo's Daily Variety said, "Botti's greatest strength is his beautiful articulation and a trumpet style that grounds his generally atmospheric backing. He plays neither jazz nor rock -- Botti's a mood setter -- and his television show, if it reflects the running order of the concert, will showcase an artist capable of moving an audience by adjusting the timbres and tempos, not only song to song, but often within a single piece of music."

DIRECTOR WILLIAM WYLER DELVES INTO THE MIND OF A PSYCHOPATH IN THE COLLECTOR-- COMING TO DVD FOR THE FIRST TIME OCT. 1

Twenty-five years before Hannibal Lecter stalked Clarice Starling onscreen, legendary film director William Wyler offered audiences a chilling portrait of a psychopathic killer in THE COLLECTOR, which makes its first-ever appearance on DVD Oct. 1 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Wyler, who was nominated for 12 Oscars and received four during his career, directs Oscar nominees Terence Stamp ("Billy Budd;" "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert") and Samantha Eggar ("Dr. Dolittle") in this eerie and psychologically penetrating examination of a young man whose hobby is collecting butterflies. His demure façade cracks when he meets a strikingly pretty woman and decides to add her to his collection.

Based on the novel by John Fowles, THE COLLECTOR marked a coming of age both for Wyler and for the Hollywood studio system, which had rarely attempted to tackle story subjects as disturbing as the violent mind of a murderer. Wyler, the most nominated director in Oscar history, worked with writers Stanley Mann and John Kohn to deliver a deliberately paced film that became one of the most controversial releases of its time.

THE COLLECTOR was nominated for three Academy Awards - Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay - and both Stamp and Eggar received top acting honors at the Cannes Film Festival for their work in the film. Eggar also won the year's Golden Globe award as best actress, and the film was nominated for three additional Golden Globes: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Nearly 40 years after its initial release, THE COLLECTOR continues to influence a generation of filmmakers. Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment offers Wyler's landmark thriller in a digitally mastered, widescreen format that preserves all THE COLLECTOR's unexpected shocks and surprises.

THE COLLECTOR: A Columbia Pictures Presentation. Also Starring Maurice Dallimore, Mona Washbourne. Produced by Jud Kinberg and John Kohn. Screenplay by Stanley Mann and John Kohn. Based on the Novel by John Fowles. Directed by William Wyler.

Award-winning filmmaker Louis Malle teams with playwright Andre Gregory and screenwriter David Mamet to update the classic "Uncle Vanya" in VANYA ON 42ND STREET, which has its DVD premiere Sept. 24 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Malle, winner of the Cannes Film Festival Palme D'Or for Pretty Baby (1978) and three-time Oscar nominee for directing and writing (Atlantic City, Au Revoir Les Enfants, Murmur of the Heart), has produced a timeless drama of faith, hope and the redemptive power of love in a unique blend of cinema and theater.

VANYA ON 42ND STREET follows performers rehearsing Anton Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya" in a dreary New York City theater. The film captures their rehearsal and the power of Chekhov's play as adapted by two-time Oscar nominee David Mamet (Wag the Dog, The Verdict). GENE WILDER AND GILDA RADNER ENGAGE IN SOME COMIC HANKY PANKY-- DEBUTING ON DVD ON SEPT. 24

The high-flying comic antics of Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner propel the manic pace of HANKY PANKY, a laugh-filled thriller from director (and Oscar-winning actor) Sidney Poitier, coming to DVD for the first time on Sept. 24 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

HANKY PANKY reteams Wilder ("Young Frankenstein," "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory") with Poitier ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"), whose pairing made "Stir Crazy" one of the biggest hits of the early 1980s. Added to the mix is the comic zaniness of Radner ("The Woman in Red," TV's "Saturday Night Live"), who was married to Wilder. HANKY PANKY marked their first film collaboration.

The labyrinthine mystery plot of an Alfred Hitchcock movie gets blended with a screwball romantic comedy in HANKY PANKY, which stars Wilder as Michael Jordan, a man who finds himself wrongly accused of a murder. Jordan's life becomes inextricably intertwined with Kate Hellman (Radner), whose brother has committed suicide. They team up to clear Jordan's name and find the real source of the suspicious deaths in their midst.

In addition to Wilder and Radner and the behind-the-scenes talent of Poitier, HANKY PANKY features a stellar supporting cast that includes Kathleen Quinlan ("The Doors"), Richard Widmark ("The Alamo") and Robert Prosky ("The Natural").

HANKY PANKY: A Columbia Pictures Production. Also Starring Josef Sommer, Johnny Sekka. Executive Producer Melville Tucker. Produced by Martin Ransohoff. Written by Henry Rosenbaum and David Taylor. Directed by Sidney Poitier.

FILMMAKER ERROL MORRIS EXPLORES THE NATURE OF GENIUS IN FAST, CHEAP & OUT OF CONTROL--COMING TO DVD ON SEPT. 24

Errol Morris, whose compelling documentaries include the landmark "The Thin Blue Line," trains his camera's eye on four eccentrics whose lives illuminate the meaning of "genius" in FAST, CHEAP & OUT OF CONTROL, making its DVD debut on Sept. 24 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. FAST, CHEAP & OUT OF CONTROL was named the best documentary film of 1997 by the National Board of Review, the New York Film Critics Circle, the Boston Society of Film Critics, the National Society of Film Critics and the Online Film Critics. Roger Ebert, writing in the Chicago Sun-Times, praised FAST, CHEAP & OUT OF CONTROL as "magical" in a four-star review.

At the center of Morris's documentary are four diverse men: Dave Hoover, a lion tamer; George Mendonca, a gardener who specializes in making topiaries; Ray Mendez, the world's foremost expert on the habits of the naked mole rat; and Rodney Brooks, a robot designer. Morris weaves interviews and footage of the men at work with old movies, stock footage and cartoons, resulting in a kaleidoscopic examination of their obsessions - and their unique brands of genius. The film's title comes from Brooks, who muses that instead of catapulting humans into space to explore the final frontier, scientists would do well to send a legion of robots that would be, in his estimation, fast, cheap and out of control. But Morris's documentary itself is something else - a carefully controlled, lyrical rumination on life that "Leonard Maltin's 2002 Movie and Video Guide" praises as "a completely original film.

" FAST, CHEAP & OUT OF CONTROL: A Sony Pictures Classics Release. An American Playhouse Theatrical Films Presentation in Association With Fourth Floor Productions Inc. Original Music by Caleb Sampson. Director of Photography Robert Richardson A.S.C. Executive Producer Lindsay Law. Produced and Directed by Errol Morris.

SYNOPSIS

Set in present day Texas, FRAILTY opens with the entrance of a stranger who walks into an FBI office looking for the detective investigating a serial killer known as the "God's Hand Killer."  Matthew McConaughey plays Fenton Meeks, the young man who approaches the lead investigator (Powers Boothe) claiming he knows the identity of the killer.  The FBI agent is mildly intrigued but unimpressed until Fenton reveals that the killer is his younger brother Adam.

Fenton continues by recounting -- in a series of flashbacks -- how he and his brother grew up in a very loving family, raised by their widowed father (Bill Paxton) in Thurman, Texas. But then one night, something happened: Dad woke his kids in the middle of the night to inform them that he has had a vision ... that the Meeks family must act as God's hands to purge the world of the demons among them. As their father's visions become more frequent and disturbing, the paths of the brothers begin to diverge as the younger, more impression-able Adam aligns himself with their father and Fenton's questioning of God's will, as interpreted by his father, throws the family off on a wrenching course that will test their faith, challenge a son's courage and end a child's innocence.

The Fellowship is aided in their quest by Elf Princess Arwen (Liv Tyler), Elf Queen Galadriel (Cate Blanchett), and Lord Elrond (Hugo Weaving), whose knowledge of the One Ring brings to light the free danger and importance of the Fellowship’s collective journey. Relentlessly pursued by Lord Sauron’s dark riders, marauding Ors, cave trolls, and goblins summoned by evil wizard Saruman the White (Christopher Lee), the Fellowship must resist the one ring’s limitless powers of corruption. Shot entirely on location in majestic New Zealand, THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING ends as the Fellowship is disbanded.

The second film of the trilogy, The Two Towers, traces the journey of Frodo and Sam as they venture deeper into the land of the enemy- with the mysterious Gollum serving as their guide- while their companions in the Fellowship struggle to rescue the captured Hobbits Merry and Pippin.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR HOME ENTERTAINMENT OFFERS 3 NEW DVD MULTI-PACKS ON SEPT. 17, FILLED WITH FAVORITE FAMILY TITLES

Classics from Jim Henson Productions and Steven Spielberg Included in Convenient Gift Packs for the Holiday Season

Family entertainment is one of the fastest-growing segments of the DVD market, and just in time for family gift-giving this holiday season, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment introduces three new multi-packs of family titles on Sept. 17, including THE MUPPET MOVIE, HOOK, MATILDA, MADELINE and two Jim Henson TV classics EMMET OTTER’S JUG-BAND CHRISTMAS and THE MUPPET FAMILY CHRISTMAS.

Three unique gift packs are available, one including EMMET OTTER, MATILDA and HOOK; another that offers EMMET OTTER and THE MUPPET FAMILY CHRISTMAS; and a third that packages THE MUPPET MOVIE, MATILDA and MADELINE.

Each multi-pack is offered separately and retails for $35.95 for the two-film set or $50.95 for either of the three-film packages.

Jim Henson Productions' THE MUPPET MOVIE was the film that launched Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and their friends from the small screen to the large. The 1978 classic features such memorable tunes as "The Rainbow Connection" and "Movin' Right Along" and includes an all-star roster of cameo appearances by celebrities as varied as Bob Hope, Dom DeLuise and Brooke Shields.

Following on the success of THE MUPPET MOVIE, Jim Henson Productions produced two holiday favorites: EMMET OTTER'S JUG BAND CHRISTMAS, about a young otter who learns the true meaning of the season; and THE MUPPET FAMILY CHRISTMAS, a yuletide celebration featuring the entire cast of Muppets.

Steven Spielberg's HOOK is the box-office smash-hit adaptation of James M. Barrie's play, and imagines what would happen if Peter Pan left Never Land and actually did grow up. The answer: The years and the distance wouldn't stop the pursuit of Captain Hook. Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts star in the eye-popping fantasy.

In MATILDA, director and star Danny DeVito offers a modern fairy tale based on the book by Roald Dahl about a little girl who's woefully misunderstood by just about everyone - her parents, her brother and an evil school principal. With the help of a friendly schoolteacher, though, Matilda learns she doesn't have to get mad, because she can get even with her enemies.

MADELINE stars Frances McDormand and Nigel Hawthorne in a colorful adaptation of the favorite French storybook by Ludwig Bemelmans. Madeline, of course, lives in an old house in Paris covered in vines - along with 12 little girls in two straight lines. Hatty Jones brings the title character to life as she and her classmates have a wild series of adventures in Paris.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR HOME ENTERTAINMENT'S SUPERBIT™ DELUXE DVD COLLECTION ADDS TWO NEW TITLES SEPT. 17: THE MASK OF ZORRO AND SNATCH

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment's acclaimed line of ultra-high-fidelity Superbit Deluxe DVDs expands on Sept. 17 with the addition of two titles to the line of "pure-performance" DVDs: the double-Oscar-nominated adventure THE MASK OF ZORRO and the British crime caper SNATCH.

The new titles in the Superbit Deluxe line come on the same day that CTHE releases "Panic Room" on Superbit DVD, the first time that the format has been used for the DVD debut of a recent theatrical release.

Superbit utilizes a special high-bit-rate digital-encoding process that optimizes video quality and offers a choice of DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. By reallocating space on a DVD that is normally used for added-value content, Superbit DVDs can be encoded at double the normal bit rate. The result: picture quality that provides outstanding detail that complements the performance of the latest progressive DVD video players. Superbit Deluxe expands the concept further by adding a second disc that contains special added-value material.

THE MASK OF ZORRO

Antonio Banderas ("Spy Kids"), Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins ("The Silence of the Lambs") and Catherine Zeta-Jones ("Traffic") star in this sweeping retelling of the legend of Mexican hero Don Diego de la Vega (Hopkins), better known as Zorro. The aging Don needs to find a successor; his choice is the brash, troubled bandit Alejandro Murietta (Banderas).

Told on an epic scale by director Martin Campbell ("Vertical Limit"), THE MASK OF ZORRO grossed more than $90 million at the box office and shows off its Oscar-nominated sound and sound-effects editing and its sumptuous photography and lavish costume design in this new Superbit version. The second disc of the Superbit Deluxe set contains deleted scenes, filmographies, a music video, photo gallery and TV and film advertising.

SNATCH

Edgy director Guy Ritchie ("Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels") offers a comedic caper film with an all-star cast, including Oscar winner Benecio del Toro ("Traffic"), Brad Pitt ("Spy Game"), Denis Farina ("Saving Private Ryan") and Vinnie Jones ("Gone in 60 Seconds").

Del Toro is Franky Four Fingers, who stops in London on the way to New York to deliver an enormous diamond. Franky takes a detour to an illegal boxing match, where bare-knuckle boxer Mickey O'Neil (Pitt) refuses to go down for the count. Mickey's forced to fight again and Franky's boss wants to know where his diamond is, leading to a frantic free-for-all.

The Superbit Deluxe edition of SNATCH not only offers the best possible image and sound, it also includes a host of special features that include: deleted scenes, a "Making of SNATCH" documentary; storyboard comparisons; TV and theatrical advertising spots; a photo gallery and more.

PANIC ROOM TAUT THRILLER STARRING TWO-TIME OSCAR WINNER JODIE FOSTER, PREMIERES ON DVD SEPTEMBER 17

David Fincher's Box-Office Smash is First Title Ever to Debut in Superbit™ DVD

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will release the $95-million-grossing thriller PANIC ROOM on Superbit(tm) DVD as well as videocassette on Sept. 17 - marking the first use of the ultra-high-fidelity format for the DVD debut of a recent theatrical release.

Richard Roeper of Ebert & Roeper called PANIC ROOM "one of the most ingenious and entertaining thrillers I've seen in a long time" and audiences agreed, leading director David Fincher's ("Fight Club") intense, claustrophobic thriller to the top of the box-office charts.

Making the home-entertainment debut of PANIC ROOM even more special is the use of the revolutionary Superbit technology for the DVD release.

In PANIC ROOM, double Oscar-winning actress Foster ("The Silence of the Lambs," "The Accused") stars as newly divorced Meg Altman, who moves into a multi-level New York brownstone with her young daughter, Sarah (film newcomer Kristin Stewart). One of the key selling points is a small, technologically sophisticated "safe" room the previous owner installed in case of a dire emergency.

Neither Meg nor Sarah know that they'll need to use the PANIC ROOM sooner than they imagine. During the first night in the house, a villainous gang of thugs -- played by Jared Leto ("Requiem for a Dream"), Forest Whitaker ("The Crying Game") and Dwight Yoakam ("Sling Blade") --  breaks into the house, searching for something they believe the previous owner left behind. Meg and Sarah endure an unforgettably suspenseful night of terror as they try to fend off the thieves from inside the confines of the PANIC ROOM.

PANIC ROOM: A Columbia Pictures Presentation of a Hofflund/Polone Production. Produced by Gavin Polone, Judy Hofflund, David Koepp, Cean Chafin. Written by David Koepp. Directed by David Fincher.

Named by www.bmonster.com as one of the 10 best "alien invader" movies ever made, EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS is a classic blend of Cold War paranoia, science-fiction speculation and Saturday-matinee adventure. "Leonard Maltin's 2002 Movie & Video Guide" calls it "a winner that belies its B origins nearly every step of the way."

The alien assault begins in peace as zombie-like creatures from outser space arrive at a U.S. Army base in search of help for their dying planet. They try to make friendly contact with Dr. Russ Marvin (Hugh Marlowe of "Elmer Gantry") and his wife, Carol (Joan Taylor of "20 Million Miles to Earth"). But their peaceful efforts are shattered when the military greets their fleet of flying saucers with gunfire. SYNOPSIS

KISSING JESSICA STEIN is a fresh new spin on the subject of sex and the single girl. When we first meet Jessica – a sensitive but neurotic New York journalist – she is fed up with her dating life – or lack thereof. Her brother's engaged, her best friend's pregnant, and she hasn't dated in a year. After an optimistic but nightmarish dating spree, she happens upon an intriguing personal ad, whose only drawback is that it's in the "women seeking women" section. On a daring whim, she decides to answer it. She meets funky downtown hipster Helen Cooper for drinks, and, to her surprise, they click instantly. Their evening of banter, connection and heated debate culminates in a kiss that confounds and intrigues even the reluctant Jessica. With conventional gender roles absent, the two women proceed to muddle through an earnest, but hilarious courtship, making up the rules as they go along.

KISSING JESSICA STEIN is a modern romantic comedy that breaks all the rules – it blurs the lines between friendship and romantic love, and finds the funny, surprising, and ultimately poignant overlap between the two.

PATRICK SWAYZE & FOREST WHITAKER STAR IN GREEN DRAGON DEBUTS ON DVD SEPTEMBER 10TH

GREEN DRAGON, a touching and poignant story about Vietnam War refugees starring Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing) and Forest Whitaker (Panic Room), debuts on DVD and videocassette on Sept. 10 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

In 1975, refugee camps were set up across the deserts to house an exodus of over 100,000 Vietnamese immigrants before and immediately after the fall of Saigon. When Tai (Don Duong, We Were Soldiers) arrives at Camp Pendleton in the United States, he is confronted by a camp filled with despair.  Jim Lance (Swayze) is the Marine in charge of housing the refuges until sponsors can be found to help them assimilate into American life.  Lance quickly commissions Tai, who speaks English, to translate for him.

Along the way, Minh meets Addie (Forest Whitaker), an American who volunteers as a cook at the camp. He immediately takes a liking to Minh as they share a common interest in drawings and Batman comic books. Without verbally understanding each other, they have an unusual bond through drawings and music, and the common loss of a mother. They paint a mural together, bridging culture and history, where another America is revealed, outside of the Sears-Roebuck catalogs and shopping malls, and a spirit of innocence is formed, beyond life and death.

Prepare to embark on a remarkable journey as an unlikely bond of friendship is formed between two men from opposite sides from one of the world's most infamous and bloodiest Wars.

GREEN DRAGON also Stars Patrick Swayze, Forest Whitaker and Don Duong: Produced by Tony Bui, Tajmakita Paxton, Elie Samaha and Andrew Stevens.    Written by Tony Bui.  Directed by Juan Timothy Linh Bui.

DIGITAL LEISURE TO RELEASE CRIME PATROL 2: DRUG WARS - AN INTERACTIVE ADVENTURE FOR PLAYSTATION 2, XBOX AND DVD MOVIE PLAYERS

Go Undercover with Narcotics Officers to Battle Street Dealers, Smugglers and a South American Drug Cartel

Digital Leisure today announced its release of a remastered version of the American Laser Games' smash arcade hit CRIME PATROL 2: DRUG WARS.  Digital Leisure, the leading publisher of interactive DVD adventures, has re-mastered Drug Wars into a fully interactive adventure for DVD movie players that is also compatible with PlayStation 2 and X-Box platforms.  The remastered version is highlighted by spectacular video quality and all the shooting action of the original laser disc adventure.  Players use their DVD remote controls to aim and fire, as the notorious Lopez and his South American Drug Cartel strive to ship their white powder across the border and into major metropolises.

Players begin the game by joining the police force in Sierra County to help the sheriff rid the town of drugs.  There'll be car chases, drug busts and plenty of action so get your trigger finger ready and help put the drug dealers where they belong - behind bars!  If you prove yourself, you'll move up through the ranks to fight the drug trade in the big city, infiltrate the border drug smuggling ring and ultimately confront the Cartel on their own turf - South America!

Originally produced by American Laser Games as a laserdisc arcade shooting game, CRIME PATROL 2: DRUG WARS is available from Digital Leisure remastered for DVD and will be available this fall for CD-ROM.  The DVD version, as well as the PlayStation 2 and Xbox compatible versions, utilize their respective remote controls to position the gun sight and fire.  The CD-ROM version supports light guns from Act-Labs as well as mouse control.

"Fighting the war on drugs has been a popular cultural theme for decades, with such exciting dramas as Miami Vice and the movie Scarface just to mention two among many," said David Foster, general manager of Digital Leisure. "The live action of Drug Wars enables players to put themselves in the shoes of fictional and real-life heroes who put their lives on the line every day, working hard to keep dangerous drugs off the streets and out of the hands of our children.  I think the game also sends a strong message to the youth of America in that eventually all the characters in the game realize that old adage: 'Crime Does Not Pay'."

OSCAR WINNER ANTHONY HOPKINS AND TONY WINNER MATTHEW BRODERICK STAR IN THE ROAD TO WELLVILLE PREMIERING SEPT. 10 ON DVD

The unbelievably odd world of health-craze huckster and Corn Flakes inventor John Harvey Kellogg comes to life with the talents of Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins ("The Silence of the Lambs") and two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick ("Brighton Beach Memoirs," "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying") in THE ROAD TO WELLVILLE. The comedy from director Alan Parker makes its first-ever appearance on DVD Sept. 10 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Written by Parker (director of "Mississippi Burning" and the Oscar-winning "Midnight Express") from the novel by T. Coraghessan Boyle, THE ROAD TO WELLVILLE features an all-star cast led by Hopkins and including Dana Carvey ("The Master of Disguise"), John Cusack ("America's Sweethearts") and Lara Flynn Boyle ("Men in Black II").

They all populate the more-than-slightly crazy Battle Creek Sanitarium, a combination spa-hospital-and-grand-hotel that is the brainchild of the wacky Kellogg. Into the fray come the sweet-spirited Eleanor, played by Bridget Fonda ("Single White Female"), and her devoted husband Will (Broderick). What they don't realize is that their efforts to improve their health will become a comedic nightmare of ill-timed sexual temptations, mechanical contraptions that would put Rube Goldberg to shame, and highly questionable dietary "breakthroughs."

THE ROAD TO WELLVILLE: Columbia Pictures and Beacon Present a Dirty Hands Production. Also starring Michael Lerner. Executive Producers Rom Rosenberg and Marc Abraham. Produced by Alan Parker, Armyan Bernstein and Robert F. Colesberry. Written and Directed by Alan Parker.
