Unprecedented 10-Part Series Covers History of Rock 'n' Roll from Elvis to MTV
Release Timed To Coincide With National Celebration Of Fifty Years Of Rock 'N' Roll

5-Disc Collector's Set Includes Interviews and Performances by Elvis, The Beatles, The Who, U2, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Jackson Five, and Many, Many More!

This summer, America will celebrate fifty years of rock 'n' roll, and Warner Home Video (WHV) has the ultimate DVD to mark the momentous anniversary. WHV's THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL will be released for the first time ever on DVD on July 6, 2004 for $99.98 SRP. "This DVD collection is the definitive documentary on the people and music that built rock 'n' roll into one of America's cultural pillars," said Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President, Non-Theatrical Franchise Marketing. "THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL is a must-have for any music lover and Warner Home Video is thrilled to be releasing this title on DVD just in time for the 50th anniversary of rock 'n' roll."

Rock historians worldwide have declared the official beginning of rock 'n' roll to be July 5, 1954, the day Elvis Presley recorded "That's All Right" at Sun Studio in Memphis. This pivotal moment in rock history is considered "the big bang" in the dawn of the rock 'n' roll era, launching a movement that would change the spirit and culture of America forever. This year on July 5th, Memphis will lead the nation in a celebration of the 50th anniversary of rock with a "Global Moment in Time," a nationwide radio tribute where radio stations across the nation will simultaneously play Elvis' "That's All Right," the song that started it all.

Since 1954, rock 'n' roll has become the most popular and enduring form of music in America, and THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL is the definitive documentary on the stars, songs and history that have made the past fifty years so memorable. With nearly 10 hours of exclusive interviews, classic footage and unforgettable concert performances from rock 'n' roll's biggest stars, fans can experience their favorite rock moments all over again and get an inside look at all the moments they didn't see. Features exclusive interviews with Mick Jagger, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Pete Townshend, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page, Jerry Garcia, Jerry Lee Lewis, Peter, Paul & Mary, B.B. King, and many, many more era-defining artists whose personalities and music styles have dominated the airways and the culture of America.

The DVD set includes ten episodes, beginning with the early rock 'n' rollers of the fifties and the opposition they faced in defining this never-before-heard style. The program then journeys through the '60's, with the British musical invasion, soul music, and the counterculture bands that emerged late in the decade. In the '70's and '80's the show explores the great guitarists of the day, the backlash against disco, punk and much more, ending with an inside look at the MTV revolution and the rise of superstars like Prince and Madonna.

THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL was executive produced by Quincy Jones (Tupac Shakur: Thug Angel, 68th Annual Academy Awards) and is narrated in part by Gary Busey (The Hand Job, Fallacy). Originally released in 1995 in VHS format, the collection has become known as the definitive documentary on rock 'n' roll. THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL on DVD will be essential for any music lover and DVD collector.

THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

EPISODE SYNOPSES

Episode 1- Rock 'n' Roll Explodes

A fast paced overview of the entire series- we see rare performances and learn how the pioneers of Rock and Roll influenced music for the next 40 years. Next we see recordings by the first people to put it all together: Little Richard, Fats Domino and Ray Charles. The episode ends with Elvis Presley's first television appearance in January 1956.

Episode 2- Good Rockin' Tonight

Rock's first golden era, a period in the 50's that saw the emergence of Rock and Roll's first superstars: Elvis, Chuck Berry, Ray Orbison, Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers. The music genre soon goes through a period of transition with Elvis in the Army, Berry in prison and Buddy Holly dead. New artists take the helm in the form of The Beach Boys, The Drifters and Phil Spector.

Episode 3- Britain Invades, America Fights back

A new revolution begins in 1964 when the Beatles burst onto the scene. Although they had a string of top hits, they were quick to be challenged on the charts by a diverse American counter-offensive, which included Motown groups as well as the new California sound of the Beach Boys.

Episode 4- The Sounds of Soul

James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles combine gospel, R&B and dramatic showmanship that created the sound that defined black music in the 60's. We also see classic performances by other soul legends that paved the way to the present for the modern sounds of soul in the music of Luther Vandros, Whitney Houston and others.

Episode 5- Plugging In

The folk-rock boom in the mid 60's liberated the language of Rock and Roll and how other artists from Elvis to the Beatles played their music. The result of this was exemplified in Bob Dylan's famous concert at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. The movement rapidly picked up momentum leading to the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, which features legendary performances from Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

Episode 6- My Generation

In the late 60's drugs, political dissent and utopian visions became enmeshed in a counterculture that formed with Rock and Roll as the soundtrack. The period peaks at Woodstock, but the good vibes are soon quashed by the deaths of Hendrix, Joplin and Brian Jones. The episode ends on a positive note as the Grateful Dead show that you can survive on good vibes and good music.

Episode 7- Guitar Heroes

Rooted in the 70's and featuring such legends as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Duane Allman, this episode goes back and forth in time presenting the story of an instrument that defined Rock and Roll- the electric guitar. Demonstrations from Carlos Santana, Eddie Van Halen and BB King detail how their unique styles influenced several generations of players.

Episode 8- The 70's: Have a Nice Decade

In the mid 70's rock was divided into several camps, with country rock, heavy metal, and disco developing at the same time. From Elton John's wild outfits to Led Zeppelin's first live performance we will see and hear the mix of the various styles that came to embody the expressive spirit and culture of the 70's.

Episode 9- Punk

As Rock and Roll became bigger and bigger in the 70's, it was time for another revolution- a return to a basic, raw, three cord sound, namely: punk. From the streets of New York to the underground of London, punk turned the status quo on its head. While most of the bands did not become successful, they were extremely influential to the history of Rock and Roll. The punk legacy continues in bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Nine-Inch Nails.

Episode 10- Up From the Underground

MTV rules and makes superstars out of Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson. In this last episode we follow the interweaving stories of rap and MTV from the early 1980's to 1994. We hear many artists talk about the creative opportunities offered by MTV, and just as many who criticize the new medium. The episode concludes by visiting the 1994 Lollapalooza Festival.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON: THE SONNY AND CHER STORY FROM MPI HOME VIDEO ON DVD JUNE 29, 2004

AND THE BEAT GOES ON: THE SONNY AND CHER STORY will be released by MPI Home Video on DVD and VHS on Tuesday, June 29, 2004. The film is based on the 1991 New York Times best-selling autobiography, And the Beat Goes On, by Sonny Bono. Famous for the hit songs "I Got You Babe" (1965) and "The Beat Goes On" (1967), the film chronicles Bono’s career from a struggling meat delivery boy to an international entertainment superstar. The movie originally aired on ABC Network in 1999 and was seen by more than 18 million viewers*.

Sonny Bono was determined to succeed in the music business. He worked as a songwriter, producer and eventually as promotions manager for the legendary Phil Spector. His life changed forever when he met Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre on a blind date. He was enamored by her exotic looks and dry sense of humor. Soon after their first meeting, Cher found herself without a place to stay and moved in with Sonny. When he heard her sing, he immediately wanted to record her in the studio, but Cher was too nervous to sing alone. Sonny provided the harmony for "Baby Please Don’t Go," a hit song they recorded under the name Casear and Cleo. Record executives who heard the pair perform, signed the couple to their label and the duo became known as Sonny and Cher.

Their roller coaster ride to fame couldn’t hide the fact that their marriage was under constant pressure. Bad business decisions, a stint as a Las Vegas lounge act and a popular, though short-lived TV series was more than Cher could handle. After years under Sonny’s control, she was ready to strike out on her own.

While Cher went on to become an Academy Award®-winning actress and pop-singing sensation, Sonny stepped into the political arena. He was first elected as mayor of Palm Springs and then as a U.S. congressman. The movie culminates with their last public performance of "I Got You Babe" in 1987 on Late Night with David Letterman and the tragic skiing accident that claimed Bono’s life in 1998.

All will feature commentaries by Scorsese and others as well as new and vintage documentaries. GOODFELLAS will be available as a Two-Disc Special Edition for $26.99 SRP; the other four films will sell for $19.97 SRP. Also included are the DVD debuts of AFTER HOURS, ALICE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE and his first feature film, WHO’S THAT KNOCKING AT MY DOOR.

Last year, when the Director's Guild of America honored Scorsese with their Lifetime Achievement Award, critic Roger Ebert said, "There is no greater American filmmaker right now than Martin Scorsese, and there hasn't been for some time, perhaps since Welles and Hitchcock and Ford died... He's the director that even the other directors would place first... No one has made more or better movies in the past 30 years..."

Martin Scorsese, director, producer, writer and actor is one of this generation's most honored and prolific artists. He grew up in New York City's Little Italy, the tough downtown neighborhood which later provided inspiration for several of his films. Scorsese graduated from New York University's Film School and after making several award-winning short films, he directed WHO’S THAT KNOCKING AT MY DOOR?, released theatrically in 1969. Scorsese then worked as assistant director and an editor on the documentary Woodstock in 1970 and proceeded to work on what was to become his breakthrough film, MEAN STREETS, released in 1973 and starring Robert DeNiro and Harvey Keitel as the leads. In 1974, he directed ALICE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, the Academy Award®-winning feminist odyssey that was his first commercial success.

In the next three decades, Scorsese showed himself to be a powerful creative force in Hollywood with a wide range of film accomplishments including Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Last Waltz, The King of Comedy, The Last Temptation of Christ, Cape Fear, The Age of Innocence, Casino and Gangs of New York. His forthcoming film, The Aviator, will be released in December. Among his many awards, in addition to the DGA honors, are an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, the Golden Lion from the Venice Film Festival and the Honoree at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's 25th Gala Tribute.

WARNER HOME VIDEO ANNOUNCES SIX NEW DVD DEBUTS FROM THE KING... ELVIS!

IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR, DOUBLE TROUBLE, SPEEDWAY, SPINOUT, HARUM SCARUM, THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS all arrive on DVD August 3

All-New Digital Transfers and Widescreen Presentations Coincide with Yearlong 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll Celebration IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR Returns to Home Video Market for First Time in more than 12 Years

May 5, 2004 - Elvis Presley fans will rejoice as Warner Home Video helps celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll with the release of six of the King's popular movies -- IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR, DOUBLE TROUBLE, SPEEDWAY, SPINOUT, HARUM SCARUM and THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS. Each of the new DVDs feature an Elvis Presley trailer gallery and all are available August 3 at $14.97 SRP.

Elvis's first film for MGM since 1957's landmark Jailhouse Rock and the first of more than a dozen movies Presley would do for that studio, IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR returns to the home entertainment market for the first time since 1992. A very young Kurt Russell, who grew up to play Elvis in 1979's biopic and later appear in 3000 Miles to Graceland, makes an early film appearance.

Elvis Aaron Presley
(1935 - 1977)

Over the course of his career, the king of rock 'n' roll starred in 31 feature films and two theatrically released concert documentaries. His music was as much a part of his box office success as his good looks, sensuality and charisma. In fact, some of his top-selling songs were from the movie soundtracks. Eleven of his soundtrack albums made it into the top ten on the Billboard Top 100 Album charts and of those, four became number one hits. He had 30 hit singles that went to #1. More than 25 years after his death, Elvis still conquers new legions of fans as recent compilations of his RCA recordings, "Elvis 30 #1 Hits" and "Elvis 2nd to None," both topped the Billboard charts of best selling albums. In addition, a recent USA Today poll placed Elvis at the top of the list as the solo artist with the highest album sales (117.5 million). Before selling more than one hundred million records, Elvis recorded his first record, "That's All Right," in 1954 at the Sun Studio in Memphis...and rock 'n' roll took off. To commemorate, the city is marking the music genre's 50th Anniversary throughout 2004. On July 5, Memphis will lead the nation in the celebration with a "Global Moment in Time" and a nationwide radio tribute. Additionally, the 1st Annual Elvis Film Festival, featuring Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas and That's The Way It Is, will be held on August 11 at the new Paradiso Theatre in East Memphis.

IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR (1963) -- The 1962 Seattle World's Fair with its showpiece Space Needle and monorail provide the setting for this rollicking adventure. When pilot-for-hire Mike (Presley) gets grounded by his co-pilot's (Gary Lockwood) gambling debts, the pair decides to hitch to Seattle where Mike finds love, Danny finds easy marks, and both find big problems to solve. Elvis has ten songs in this movie including Happy Ending, Relax and the gold record One Broken Heart for Sale. A young Kurt Russell plays the child who wallops Mike in the shins.

DOUBLE TROUBLE (1967) -- In this comedic mystery romp, Elvis portrays Guy Lambert, a singer on tour in London who gets involved with a love-struck teenage heiress (Annette Day), a sexy temptress (Yvonne Romain) and a jewel smuggling operation. Who knew trouble could be so cool and so much fun! Some of the songs from this movie include City by Night, Could I Fall in Love, Long-Legged Girl and There's So Much World to See.

SPEEDWAY (1968) -- In this high-octane laugh fest, Elvis Presley sings his way around the race circuit as successful speedway driver Steve Grayson until his wise-cracking manager (Bill Bixby) files a bad tax return. The engines rev-up and the chase begins when IRS agent (Nancy Sinatra) arrives on the scene. The laughs in this film are further enhanced by talented comic actors, Gale Gordon (The Lucy Show) and Carl Ballantine (McHale's Navy). Music includes songs such as There Ain't Nothing like a Song, Let Yourself Go, Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby and Your Groovy Self.

SPINOUT (1966) - Mike McCoy (Presley), a part-time race car driver and lead singer for a band combo, has his foot on the gas and his eyes on the road as three women with marriage on their minds race after him. Shelley Fabares (his co-star in Girl Happy) plays the rich girl spoiled by her wealthy father (Carl Betz, who also played her father on TV's The Donna Reed Show). Deborah Walley (Gidget Goes Hawaiian) is the drummer in his band looking to beat out a rhythm to his heart and Diane McBain (General Hospital, Days of our Lives) plays a writer researching a book about "The Perfect American Male." Songs include Never Say Yes, Adam and Evil, All That I Am and Stop, Look Listen. In this film there are no brakes on the fun.

HARUM SCARUM (1965) - Johnny Tyronne (Presley) is a swashbuckling action-adventure movie star and ladies' man on a goodwill tour of the Middle East to promote his latest film. He is kidnapped by a clandestine group of assassins that want him to kill a desert king. Sand and songs swirl throughout this tale as Johnny escapes and heads back to civilization but not without teaming up with former Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley. The film was directed by former movie hoofer Gene Nelson (OKLAHOMA!) and features such song hits as Kismet and Harem Holiday.

THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS (1969)- This comedy/drama is a change of pace for Elvis as he tackles the challenges of Walter Hale, a manager of a 1927 traveling show that starts to develop some trouble when it hits Radford Center, Iowa. The film is packed with colorful co-stars including Vincent Price, Marlyn Mason, John Carradine, Joyce Van Patten, Edward Andrews, Sheree North and Dabney Coleman. Almost is one of the songs in the film which also has Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Clean Up Your Own Backyard on the soundtrack.

All new to DVD single discs are remastered in new 16x9 digital transfers, in a format preserving the "scope" aspect ratio of their original theatrical exhibition, enhanced for widescreen TVs. The DVDs also include an Elvis Presley trailer gallery.

EPISODE SYNOPSES:

Season One

Diggers Daughter -- Dallas begins with a Romeo and Juliet theme. Bobby James Ewing, the youngest of the Ewing sons, is marring Pamela Barnes. Pamela (Pam) is the daughter of Digger Barnes who just happens to be the enemy of the head of the Ewing Family, Jock Ewing. Digger also shared a romantic past with Jock's wife Ellie. The marriage does not sit well with any of the Ewings. Sue Ellen resents the newcomer, Lucy tries to intimidate her from the beginning, and Jock is furious. J.R. reacts the most strongly, trying to break up the couple by using Ray Krebbs, the ranch foreman of Southfork to break the couple up. Ray had a brief fling with Pamela Barnes, and J.R. hopes this will end the marriage.

The Lesson -- Lucy Ewing is skipping school and spending most of her time in the hayloft with Ray Krebbs. Pam, still not fitting in with the Ewing Clan, decides Lucy is her ticket in. Pam decides she will 'mother' Lucy and get her back in school. Lucy doesn't like her Aunt's interference and ups the anti by claiming the guidance counselor sexually assaulted her. Pam, in the first of the 'Pam saves the day' episodes, finds out the truth and gets Lucy to tell the truth and return to school.

Spy in the House -- Cliff Barnes, Pam's bother is not pleased that his sister has married a Ewing. A document that Bobby asked Pam to bring to Ewing Oil ends up in Cliff's hands and all the Ewing's blame Pam. Is she a spy in the house? The episode ends with the family knowing it was not Pam... but Ginger, Tina Louise.

Winds of Vengeance -- Luther Frick and his buddy find out that J.R. Ewing and Ray Krebbs have been having a little fun with their women so they decide payback is in order. They go to Southfork while most of the Ewing men are away and hope to do the same with the Ewing women. They kidnap Pam, Sue Ellen and Lucy and seek revenge. Bobby and Jock return home to stop the revenge just in the nick of time.

Barbeque -- The Ewings hold the family's annual barbecue and as usual the sparks fly. Digger's appearance pleases Ellie but annoys Jock. Lucy is thrilled Pam's cousin Jimmy is in attendance and she shows him the hay loft. Bobby and Pam announce that Pam is pregnant. The fact that Pam is pregnant upsets Sue Ellen and J.R. Sue Ellen drowns her sorrows in the bottle. The episode ends with Pam finding Jimmy and Lucy in the hayloft. After they leave, J.R. shows up. He and Pam have a conversation in which she ends up falling from the hayloft, losing her unborn child.

Season Two

Reunion (1) -- Bobby surprises Pam by asking her join him on a business trip to Las Vegas. During the trip they are shocked to find brother Gary working at the hotel they are staying at. Lucy has been busy as well. While at a cattle auction with Jock and Ray, she ditches out with Pam's cousin Jimmy and Ray is not pleased. It turns out Jimmy is just her ride as he takes her to the diner where her mother is working. Lucy has been secretly visiting Valene. As Lucy and Val catch up, Bobby talks a reluctant Gary into returning to Southfork for a visit. Pam understands his reasons not to, but Gary eventually agrees. When Bobby calls Ellie with the news, she gives a stern warning to both Jock and J.R. Jock is not pleased with what she has to say and tells her that 'Gary is his son too." J.R. begins to plot Gary's downfall even before he returns. Lucy surprises both her parents by bringing them together at the diner. After a lengthy discussion, Gary talks Valene into returning to Southfork as well. Valene does, but is still fearful of J.R., remembering how he ran her out of Texas many years ago.

Reunion (2) -- J.R.'s efforts to rid the family of Gary...again, begin to work. J.R. pretends to help his younger brother by including him in some Ewing Oil business. But the business is doomed for failure and Gary begins to feel the stress. Valene realizes what J.R. is up to but is unable to stop it. Pam has trouble of her own. A drunken Digger shows up at Southfork, while recovering from his binge and tells Pamela he will no longer acknowledge her as his daughter because she is married to a Ewing. Gary falls victim to J.R.'s plan and can no longer take the pressure. He leaves Southfork early in the morning. Valene catches him before he goes, but cannot talk him into staying, not even for Lucy. J.R. attempts to blackmail Valene into leaving as well by paying her off. Both depart Southfork, leaving Lucy without parents once again.

Old Acquaintance -- Jenna Wade, Bobby's former love, returns to his life. She is in trouble and she and her daughter need his help. Bobby believes her daughter Charlie might be his, but Jenna will not confirm. J.R. sees this as an opportunity to rid Southfork of Pam and encourages Jenna to go after Bobby. Bobby's help seems a little too much for Pam, who confronts Jenna and meets Charlie. Pam's fears prove to be unfounded as Bobby loves her and decides Jenna is only someone from his past.

Bypass - Bobby questions his role at Ewing Oil as J.R.'s way of business does not sit well with him. Jock does not support this and confronts J.R. During the discussion Jock suffers a heart attack. Bobby deals with his father's illness by joining Ray, now working at Southfork. Jock knows J.R. is not telling him everything and wants Bobby back to keep things on the straight and narrow at Ewing Oil, the company he started. While in the hospital, Jock finds out he needs open heart surgery. All the Ewing's are there to support the patriarch of the family. The operation goes fine, and when Jock is conscious, he wonders about Bobby's role in the company. Bobby does not give his daddy the answer his father would have wished. J.R. has Ewing Oil all to himself once again, just exactly the way he wants it.

Black Market Baby -- Sue Ellen is fearful Pam will produce the next Ewing heir before her. Sue Ellen is desperate and decides to adopt. When she encounters obstacles, she decides a quicker method is required and goes to extremes with a 'black market' baby. This deal is going to cost Sue Ellen cash, and decides she should meet the mother. Sue Ellen forms a maternal relationship with Rita Briggs, the mother of the unborn child. Sue Ellen's plan is almost ruined by a meeting between herself, Rita and Pam, but Pam is only worried about Sue Ellen. The plan falls apart of course by the doings of J.R. He finds out about the deal and ships Rita out of the state. He wants an heir as much as Sue Ellen, but tells her it has to be "our child, not somebody else's."

Double Wedding -- Ed Haynes shows up in Dallas, causing conflict in Bobby and Pam's marriage. Pam was married to Ed, something she failed to tell Bobby. Ed tracks down Digger, and gets him drinking, using some of the info from the old man in his con. J.R. of course uses the opportunity to stick it, again, to Pam. Ed was in the Vietnam war when Pam got the divorce, claims he never got the divorce papers, and says that he and Pam are still married. Once Bobby and Pam are on to the scam, they convince Haynes that Pam was kicked out of the Ewing family, and at the same time, Bobby tracks down Hayne's partner and gets his hands on a copy of the annulment papers. Both men leave town.

Runaway -- It's Lucy Ewing's birthday. Sue Ellen is planning the music, Pam brings her home dresses, and J.R. is planning the guest list. Lucy is not pleased. She tries to convince Grandaddy Jock to let her invite her mother. Jock says he does not want Valene on the Ranch given how she left the last time. Lucy tries to explain that J.R. lied, and her mother never took the bribe J.R. offered, but he stands firm. Lucy leaves Southfork in the middle of the night, taking a guitar and J.R.'s car with her. Eventually she is picked up by a con man, Willie Guest, who includes Lucy in some of his thefts and scams. He is thrilled to have latched on to one of the rich Ewings. Lucy wants out, but Guest kidnaps her, forcing her to stay with him. Bobby and the police track them down and eventually Lucy returns safely to Southfork.

Election -- Pam finds herself once again in the middle, between her brother and the Ewing Family. Cliff Barnes is in a race for state senator and the Ewings, especially J.R., are not happy. Pam puts her full support behind Cliff, but is tricked by J.R. into giving damaging information away. J.R. attempts to convince Pam the media will have a ball if they find out Cliff is gay. Pam argues back about how ridiculous that is and shares information about a past girlfriend that Cliff had. It turns out the woman died having an illegal abortion, and J.R. is confident the voting public will not look to favorably on this. Cliff is ruined, and Pam vows to make J.R. pay for what he did to her brother.

Survival -- During a storm, the Ewing plane with both J.R. and Bobby on board crashes. The news gets to Ellie first, who, worried about his heart condition, insists the news be kept from Jock. As J.R. and Bobby fight for survival, the Ewing women contemplate life with them in it. Sue Ellen is worried her place at Southfork is not secure without a Ewing heir. She comes across Lucy trying to get in touch with Gary and argues with the young girl. Lucy taunts back that Sue Ellen will never have Southfork without a child of her own. Miss Ellie confronts a reporter who comes to Southfork, and Jock overhears and is furious that the news has been kept from him. News of J.R. and Bobby's survival comes to the family.

Act of Love -- When J.R. was feared dead in the plane crash, Sue Ellen turned to Cliff Barnes for support. The relationship progressed, and while J.R. is away again, the affair goes further. Bobby and Pam's relationship is tested as well. He wants her to help with the business, she wants to pursue business of her own at the store. Sue Ellen finds out she is pregnant and drops Cliff fast. J.R. is suspicious of the pregnancy, given how suddenly it occurs after seven years of marriage.

Triangle -- Pam, Bobby and Lucy join Ray out for a night of country music. Ray has become serious about country singer Garnett McGee. When Jock leaves Ray some land on Southfork, he pops the question to Garnett. Lucy wants to follow Garnett's lead and become a country singer, but the family acts like she wants to be a hooker! Garnett wants more than Ray can offer, and hooks up with J.R. who puts together a music contract for her. Lucy comes to Ewing Oil in the hopes of getting J.R. to help her with her own music career. She finds the contract for Garnett and spills the beans to Ray. Ray is furious and heads for Garnett's. He finds J.R. with her and a fight begins. Lucy, fearing what might occur, tells Pam and Bobby about what she did. Pam sends Bobby to save the day and he stops Ray before he can kill J.R.

Fallen Idol -- Bobby Ewing decides a new venture is in order. His old buddy Guzzler Bennett returns to Dallas and want Bobby to join him in the construction business. Hitch is, they want to bid a shopping mall on Southfork. Ellie wants no part of a shopping center on Southfork, and J.R. has that land in mind for future oil drilling. Guzzler's selfish ways also put a strain on Bobby's relationship with Pam. Bobby is out of luck all the way around on this one. Kidnapped -- Kidnappers going after J.R. Ewing end up taking Bobby instead. The kidnappers want to use Cliff Barnes as the go between, but J.R. cannot stay out of it. J.R. overhears Cliff setting up a time to do the switch and he and Ray try to save Bobby. They do, but not before shooting the kidnappers and almost killing Cliff in the process.

Home Again -- Ellie's brother Garrison, presumed dead, shockingly shows up at Southfork. Ellie, knowing the Ranch was supposed to be his, tells the family she will be giving Southfork to Garrison. The family is not happy, and J.R. of course insults Garrison causing the old man, who does not want Southfork, to fight back. All the Ewing's fears about losing Southfork are not grounded, for Garrison's nurse, Cathy Baker, explains to Ellie that Garrison is very sick, and only returned to the ranch to die.

For Love or Money -- Sue Ellen's mother and sister arrive in Dallas, and just in the nick of time. Sue Ellen catches J.R. with another woman and moves in with her family. She also hooks up again with Cliff for support. J.R. is not happy but finally decides he wants his wife home, even if the baby she is carrying is not his!

Julie's Return -- Jock is getting tired of being treated like an invalid. J.R. uses his father's heart attack to keep him out of Ewing Oil. Ellie attempts to keep all stress out his life. When Julie Grey, Jock's former secretary arrives back in Dallas, Jock is thrilled to spend a lot of time with her. She does not treat him like family, and the two renew their relationship. Fearing Jock is having an affair with Julie, he tells his mother. Ellie tries to stop what is going on, but Jock leaves to see Julie. He gives her an expensive gift and says that it will have to be a going away present. Once Jock leaves, J.R. shows up at Julie's door. Julie promises to keep causing trouble for J.R., but he tells her not to count on it.

The Red File (1) -- J.R. is not happy that Cliff is back in public office. He attempts to use Julie to get info about Cliff. She is tired of J.R. and decides she will actually help Cliff. She calls him and leaves him a message that she will fill him in on all the Ewing's secrets. Cliff heads to Julie's but does not find her. After a run in with Ames and Garr from the cartel, Julie ends up dead, having fallen from the roof of her building. J.R. uses his influence to have Cliff booked for the murder.

The Red File (2) -- Pam is sure that J.R. is framing Cliff and leaves Bobby and Southfork. Bobby holds J.R. responsible and promises to get to the bottom of things. Bobby goes to see Cliff, to see if he can help. Cliff is not happy to see any of the Ewings and tells Bobby the only thing that can help is if the real killers are caught. Bobby is on the trail and finds a key in Cliff's mail which was sent from Julie before her death. The key leads Bobby to Julie's file of Ewing information. One of the things Bobby finds is a fake codicil to Jock's will. Bobby thinks that J.R. killed Julie. J.R. shares with Bobby the name of the person who was taping Julie's phone for him, and through this man, they are led to Willie Joe and Jeb. Once the real killers are identified, Cliff is released. Bobby hopes this might bring Pam home, but she is not ready.

Sue Ellen's Sister -- Cliff tries to get Ewing information out of Sue Ellen, but she is not interested in helping him. He then tries Pam who is hurt and angry about being used by her brother in the Ewing/Barnes feud. Meanwhile, with Pam away from Southfork, Kristin makes a play for Bobby. Lucy sees right through Kristin, as does J.R., but he encourages the relationship.

Call Girl -- While still separated from Bobby, Pam makes friends with a model from 'the store', Leanne Rees. Leanne happens to be a former prostitute, and J.R. smells a plan. He creates a photo opportunity in which Pam looks like she too is into the world's oldest profession. Bobby finds out about J.R.'s scheme, and although not in J.R.'s plan, it actually brings Pam and Bobby back together. Bobby brings Pam back to Southfork which does not please his brother.

Royal Marriage -- J.R. is thrilled when Lucy becomes engaged to Kit Mainwaring. It will mean a potential business merger with Mainwaring Oil, which would be beneficial to Ewing Oil, and J.R. Unfortunately, Kit Mainwaring is gay. He eventually confesses this to Bobby, and then to Lucy. Lucy is heartbroken, but stands by Kit, and holds the secret. Only she and Bobby know the truth. But, of course, J.R. knew all along.

The Outsiders -- Sam Culver is someone J.R. thinks is important! But Sam's wife Donna Culver is fooling around with Ray Krebbs. Bobby and Pam run into them one night while out, and Pam is worried about Ray being hurt again. Ray is not concerned as he is in love with Donna, and not Pam, Lucy or J.R. is going to get in the way.

John Ewing III (1) -- Lucy's a wreck after her breakup with Kit and turns to drugs! Sue Ellen's battle with the bottle continues, despite her pregnancy. Despite efforts by Ray and Bobby, Lucy keeps on using, and one day when the addict and drunk are alone at Southfork, they have a meeting in which Sue Ellen ends up falling down the stairs. Lucy seems to have learned her lesson, but J.R. decides to put Sue Ellen, against her wishes, in a Sanitarium.

John Ewing III (2) -- Sue Ellen is not happy in the sanitarium. Bobby visits her and thinks that Cliff is the father of the baby. J.R. visits, which does not make Sue Ellen any happier. She bribes a nurse for alcohol and leaves, only to end up in a car accident. Sue Ellen ends up in the hospital with the baby's life in danger. Cliff, thinking he is the father, rushes to the hospital!

WHOLLY MOSES!-- THE CHOSEN ONE IS ON DVD JULY 6

Hilarious Biblical Satire Features an All-Star Comedy Cast Including Dudley Moore, Laraine Newman, Richard Pryor, Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn and John Ritter

The Old Testament gets a revisionist history treatment in WHOLLY MOSES, available on DVD July 6 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Dudley Moore (Micki & Maude, Arthur) and Laraine Newman (TV's Saturday Night Live) play a couple vacationing in the Holy Land who accidentally discover the "Book of Herschel," an ancient account of the man who lost his rightful place in line to some guy named Moses. In the tradition of The Life of Brian and Mel Brooks' History of the World, WHOLLY MOSES touts a zany script and a spectacular ensemble cast of comedians including Richard Pryor (Stir Crazy, The Toy) as Pharoah, Dom DeLuise (Blazing Saddles, Smokey and the Bandit) as Shadrach, Madeline Kahn (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein) as a demented witch and John Ritter (TVs Three's Company) as Satan.

Discovered in a desert cave is an ancient document which casts new light on an old story. The infant Moses, as the story goes, was dispatched down the Nile and rescued by the Pharaoh's daughter. But on the same morning, another child - Herschel - was also set afloat. Herschel just happened to sail past the Princess with a helpful nudge from Moses. So the question is, who was

truly God's Chosen? Moses or Herschel?

WINNER OF THE 2003 SPORTS EMMY® FOR "OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTARY," THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO ARRIVES ON DVD IN TIME FOR FATHER’S DAY, JUNE 1, 2004

New York, NY April 22, 2004 –In 1918 the Boston Red Sox won their fifth World Series, thanks in great part to a young pitching and hitting sensation from the slums of Baltimore, named George Herman Ruth, a.k.a. The Babe or The Bambino. Following the 1919 season in which the team failed to make the Series, Red Sox owner Harry Frazee sold the Babe to the New York Yankees.

The Yankees went on to dominate the game of baseball, not just during the Ruth era but for decades afterwards, winning a total of 25 World Series since. The Red Sox, who had won five of the first 15 World Series ever played, have never won another since.

Told with humor in the face of heartache, this acclaimed documentary combines archival footage with contemporary interviews and focuses not on the players who have come and gone, but on the diehard fans who live their entire lives lamenting what some have come to call THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO.

WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW? KNOCKING 'EM DEAD ON DVD, JUNE 29, 2004

FINALLY A FILM FOR FANS OF SOUTH PARK, AND ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW... AND IT'S USED FOR U.S. GOVERNMENT DIPLOMACY, TOO!

Few films have had the impact of the darkly comedic mini feature WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW?, which deftly combines the innocent nonsensical sensibilities of Dr. Seuss with the bizarre hyper-reality of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Featuring genre-busting performances by Armin Shimmerman (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) and John Kassir (the voice of the Crypt Keeper from Tales Of The Crypt), WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW? is a cautionary tale about a nasty little boy who meets his match in a pair of wide-eyed twins and their mysterious friend, the Wizzit. Film Threat calls this uniquely refreshing film, "simultaneously hilarious and unsettling..." and now Image Entertainment is releasing WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW? on DVD, June 29, 2004, at the suggested retail price of $9.99.

Walking away with 35 awards, including Best Short, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and Best Screenplay, WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW?, has quickly emerged as a film festival favorite having been invited and screened at over 170 film festivals. Ingeniously written by Joe Jordan and masterfully directed by Brett Nemeroff, the Velvet Steamroller & Moonlight Graham Entertainment release has gained a rabid cult following among those who love filmmaking that defies categorization. "If you're a fan of South Park, or Rocky Horror Picture show or a fan of anything unique or out of the ordinary, you're going to love this movie," says Nemeroff.

An unexpected bonus for the filmmakers is the fact that WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW? has also caught the attention of the U.S Department of Defense and the State Department. During this time of global political unrest, the U.S. State Department is screening WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW?, using it as a diplomatic tool in the hopes of changing the world's negative perception of the United States and to promote American values. Most recently, the film was selected and screened by the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the U.S. Consulate in Calcutta, India to show a different facet of American culture. Additionally, the film was requested by the U.S. Navy where it has already screened on over ten Navy Ships in the Atlantic Fleet in an effort to raise the morale of our wartime troops.

All of which gives this 21-minute mini epic a very special place in the annals of film history and further raises its profile, making it one of the most anticipated DVD releases of the year.

Synopsis

Set in the idyllic 1950s, WHO SLEW SIMON THADDEUS MULBERRY PEW? follows the travails of wide-eyed innocents Sammy (Billy Ray Gallion) and Tammy (Lisette Bross) Fitzgivens. Forced to play with their bratty, neighbor, Simon Thaddeus Mulberry Pew (John Kassir), the kids finally reach their limit and devise a way to rid themselves of the obnoxious know-it-all, while keeping all of his wonderful toys for themselves. Once the deed is done, the Wizzit (Armin Shimmerman) magically appears to help the kids clean up the mess, but not before teaching them a few valuable lessons about taking responsibility for their actions and the incontestable power of blackmail.

THE SHOW-- FROM THE STREET TO DVD JULY 6, 2004

Groundbreaking Documentary Features Exclusive Interviews With Many of Rap's Greatest Stars Past & Present Including Run-D.M.C., Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Notorious B.I.G.

Rap has become an inarguably major cultural force with an impact felt on everything from movies to clothing to politics and has literally changed our common language, not just in the United States but worldwide. The fascinating and illuminating documentary, THE SHOW, explores this phenomenon through dozens of exclusive interviews with the biggest stars of the genre including Snoop Dogg, The Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, Run D.M.C., The Notorious B.I.G., Sean "Puffy" Combs, promoter Russell Simmons and producer Andre Harrell.

This groundbreaking documentary film will be available on DVD July 6, 2004 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Before the documentary "Tupac Resurrection," there was THE SHOW. For producer/director Brian Robbins (Varsity Blues, Big Fat Liar), access to a major rap concert in Philadelphia gave him the foundation on which to base this perceptive, often funny and surprisingly intimate documentary, which mixes interviews with most of the major figures of the mid-1990s (Snoop Doggy Dog, The Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, The Notorious B.I.G., Sean "Puffy" Combs) with casual backstage banter, live footage of their performances and footage shot on the road. The result is an informal look at the music, though Robbins doesn't avoid controversy as the musicians talk about rap's reputation for violence and illegal substance abuse. Older stars from the 1970s and 1980s are also interviewed (Run-DMC, Whodini, Afrika Bambaata, Scorpio). Other talent featured in the film include: Afrika Bambaataa, Kurtis Blow, Kid Capri, Dr. Dre, Warren G, Doc Ice, Tripp Locc, Craig Mack, Method Man, Raekwon, Slick Rick, Wayniac

BANNED, FORBIDDEN, CONDEMNED... FREAKS...AND MORE HORROR CLASSICS COMING TO DVD TOD BROWNING'S MASTERPIECE AND FOUR OTHER SCARY FAVORITES DEBUT ON DVD AUGUST 10 FROM WARNER HOME VIDEO

Hair-raising extras include alternate endings, documentaries, commentaries, and more

The only thing horror fans will have to fear this summer is fear itself: On August 10 Warner Home Video (WHV) debuts on DVD the forbidden and once banned masterpiece FREAKS, along with four other classic horror favorites including THE BAD SEED, DEAD RINGER, VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED and its sequel CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED (latter two on one disc). All four DVDs will sell for $19.97 SRP.

FREAKS (1932) - This classic from horror master Tod Browning (Dracula) was first released in 1932, but subsequently banned in England for more than 30 years because of its controversial casting and portrayal of real people with grotesque physical deformities. In the 1960s FREAKS developed a huge cult following at midnight shows. Even today, it retains its power to transfix an audience. FREAKS features the "living torso" Prince Radian, Siamese twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, half-bodied Johnny Eck, "pinheads" Elvira and Jenny Lee Snow and others. Plot involves an exquisite looking but cold-hearted high-wire artist (Olga Baclanova) who marries a wealthy circus performer (little person Harry Earles), and then schemes with her bodybuilder lover (Henry Victor) to poison her husband in order to inherit his wealth. The group of "freaks" seeks revenge and gets even with the high-wire artist. On DVD, FREAKS has been remastered from rare nitrate film elements to improve image and audio quality. Bonus materials will include:

THE BAD SEED (1956) - Nancy Kelly and Patty McCormack star in this tale of suspense based on the Maxwell Anderson Broadway play about a woman who appears to have it all: a wonderful home, a husband who adores her and a seemingly ideal daughter -- who turns out to have an "inherited evil" which results in the deaths of several people. "A spellbinding account [with] fine performances," says critic Leonard Maltin. Patty McCormack, the first child actor ever given such a deliberately evil role on film, earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar® nomination for her effort.

Bonus material will include:

DEAD RINGER (1964) - Bette Davis plays twin sisters for 'double trouble.' Edith Phillips (Davis), because of a longtime grudge over a man, kills and then takes on the identity of her wealthy twin sister Margaret (Davis again). Karl Malden, Peter Lawford co-star in the movie which was directed by Davis's 1940s leading man, Paul Henreid.

Bonus material will include:

VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED (1960) - In Midwich, a small English village, every citizen falls into a deep, strange sleep in the middle of the day. Months later all the young women are pregnant and their resulting children show little emotion and have strange penetrating eyes that seem to make people do things against their will. George Sanders, Barbara Shelley, Michael Gwynne and Laurence Naismith star in the movie directed by Wolf Rilla. Leonard Maltin calls it "an eerie well-made thriller."

CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED (1963) - Sequel to VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED is about scientists who discover five children, each with an inordinate amount of intelligence. The children are flown to London to be studied, but they escape and wreak havoc.

The VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED and CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED double-feature DVD will include the following bonus materials:

Synopsis

During the early 1960s, Paris, like much of Europe, was an explosion of life. As the old gave way to the new, everything was in flux and the city was filled with an energy that promised cultural shifts and social change. Against this background, in a working class neighborhood, two unlikely characters - a young Jew and an elderly Muslim - begin a friendship. When we meet Momo, he is in effect an orphan even though he lives with his father, a man slowly retreating into a crippling depression. His only friends are the street whores who treat him with genuine affection. Momo buys his groceries at the neighborhood shop, a crowded dark space owned and run by Ibrahim, a silent exotic looking man who sees and knows more then he lets on. After his father abandons Momo, Ibrahim becomes the one grownup in Momo's life. Together they begin a journey that will change their lives forever.
