This enormously popular crime drama first aired in the U.K. in 1992. It continues to be one of the most-watched programs on the ITV1 network. A TOUCH OF FROST SEASON 3 includes the following programs: "Appropriate Adults," "Quarry," "Dead Male One," and "No Refuge."
Set in the dreary suburb of Denton near Bristol in southern England, Jack Frost is a cantankerous and short-tempered copper, who prefers the nitty gritty of detective work to following police procedures. But, when it comes to solving crimes, Frost leads the charge to bring justice to the common man.
"Appropriate Adults" concerns the mystery of a missing 8 year-old girl who was last seen by a young man with Down's Syndrome. Frost's superiors believe the young man is guilty, but Jack takes a different lead to find the girl's kidnappers.
In "Quarry," an animal rights group protests a foxhunt in Denton and one of the activists is found murdered. Detective Constable Clive Barnard, the chief constable's nephew, returns to help solve the case. Jack gets closer with Shirley Fisher.
In "Dead Male One," the mystery of a murdered man in the river deepens when Frost discovers that the man's driver's license actually belongs to someone else. A star player on the local soccer team collapses during a press conference. Was he poisoned? Jack and Shirley Fisher take a big step in their relationship.
In "No Refuge," multiple burglaries in the same home lead Frost to a surprising arrest. Jack and a female detective sergeant are called to a local factory where a robbery and murder have been committed. The owner identifies a suspect but goes into hiding when his life is threatened.

LIFETIME ORIGINAL MOVIES HOMELESS TO HARVARD AND OBSESSED AVAILABLE ON DVD SEPTEMBER 7 FROM WARNER HOME VIDEO
Warner Home Video Debuts the First Two Titles in the New Branded Line of Lifetime Home Entertainment Product
Warner Home Video kicks-off its new Lifetime Home Entertainment product line with the Emmy-nominated HOMELESS TO HARVARD and critically-acclaimed OBSESSED, two of Lifetime Television's top-rated original movies.
Both titles will be available in stores September 7 and will be sold for $19.98 (SRP) each.
Nominated for three Emmys, including Outstanding Made for Television Movie, HOMELESS TO HARVARD is an inspiring drama based on the remarkable true story of Liz Murray. Touchingly portrayed by Thora Birch (Ghost World, American Beauty), who earned an Emmy nomination for the role, Murray was raised in poverty by drug-addicted parents. Though loved by her parents, they were unable to care for her and she ended up living on the streets by the age of 15. Profoundly affected by her mother's (portrayed by Kelly Lynch, Charlie's Angels, Drugstore Cowboy) AIDS-related death, Murray forced herself to look at her future and make some significant changes. Her prospects were dismal, yet she turned her life around by going back to high school. After earning her diploma in just two years, while still homeless, Murray won a New York Times scholarship for needy students, which enabled her to attend Harvard University.
HOMELESS TO HARVARD will be rebroadcast on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network just before the DVD's September 7th street date. The film was Lifetime's number one rated movie of 2003 and number one original movie on all of basic cable among women, seen by 12.3 million total viewers. It was Lifetime's seventh highest rated movie since the network launched its successful Lifetime Original Movie franchise in 1990. Special features on the DVD include an interview with the real Liz Murray as well as an inspirational message from her.
OBSESSED, directed by Emmy and Oscar-nominated director John Badham (War Games, Saturday Night Fever), is the gripping psychological thriller about a gifted and intelligent medical writer jailed for an alleged obsession with a married doctor. Starring Jenna Elfman, (Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Dharma and Greg), OBSESSED focuses on the story of Ellena Roberts, a smart, successful woman who recounts the details of a one-night stand that led to a heated love affair with prominent surgeon David Stillman (Sam Robards, AI: Artificial Intelligence, American Beauty). David's version of the facts differs entirely and he insists that he never slept with Ellena. Sure that the doctor is lying, Ellena's lawyer prepares to defend her client in court when some disturbing facts emerge. Based on a true story, OBSESSED is one of Lifetime's highest rated original movies, seen by 11.9 million total viewers. OBSESSED will be rebroadcast on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network just before the DVD's September 7th street date.
Special features on the DVD include on-the-set interviews with the film's cast and director.
Regarding the announcement, Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing said, "We are delighted to launch the branded line of Lifetime home entertainment product with HOMELESS TO HARVARD and OBSESSED, both of which are examples of the quality, outstanding programming the network consistently delivers to its viewers. With made-for-television movies becoming more popular and women's DVD buying power increasing, the time is perfect to present Lifetime Original Movies on DVD to their enormous, loyal female fan base. We think consumers will be thrilled to learn they can now make two of their favorite Lifetime Original Movies part of their DVD libraries."
"Lifetime Original Movies are best known for heartfelt, true-to-life dramas such as HOMELESS TO HARVARD," said Adam Lewinson, Vice President of Home Entertainment at Lifetime. "We wanted our first release to also reflect some of the different dimensions of our movies, so we included OBSESSED, an exceptionally well-crafted thriller with very broad appeal. Future releases from Lifetime Home Entertainment will round out our diverse catalog with romantic comedies and holiday movies."
HOMELESS TO HARVARD and OBSESSED are the first two titles to be launched under the WHV and Lifetime Entertainment Services exclusive home entertainment distribution agreement. The multi-year arrangement marks Lifetime's first ever home entertainment distribution agreement for Lifetime Original Movies, which WHV will distribute exclusively in the US.

The Director
Born in London in 1899, Hitchcock became interested in film at a young age and, following his dream, secured his first job at age 21 designing titles for a movie studio. He got his first chance at directing when the director of Always Tell Your Wife (1923) fell ill and Hitchcock had to complete the film. Impressed by his work, English studio chiefs gave him the opportunity to direct his own film, Number 13 (1922), however, before it was finished, the studio closed down its British operation. He then served as assistant director on several more films, after which he was hired to direct The Pleasure Garden (1925).
Hitchcock's next film, The Lodger, was a resounding success and he ultimately become the most successful and highest paid director in England. At the onset of World War II, he emigrated to the United States where he went on to become one of the most widely known and influential directors in motion picture history.
Although he was nominated for five Best Director Academy Awards®, Hitchcock never won, but in 1968 he was chosen to receive the Academy's Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. "Hitch," as he was known to so many, accepted it with a simple "Thank you." Hitchcock continued to write, produce and direct films until 1979 when he was awarded the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award. He died the following year, in 1980.
The Films
DIAL M FOR MURDER - Alfred Hitchcock's screen version of Frederick Knott's stage hit stars one of Hitchcock's favorites, Grace Kelly, along with Ray Milland and Robert Cummings as the points of a romantic triangle -- Margot Mary Wendice (Kelly), her lover Mark Halliday (Cummings) and her husband Tony Wendice (Milland), who's plotting her murder. But when Tony dials a Mayfair exchange to set the plot in motion, his right number gets the wrong answer.
The extra features included on the DVD are:
FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT - A classic Hitchcock suspenser about an intrepid American reporter, John Jones (Joel McCrea), who thinks he's stumbled across the biggest story in prewar Europe. Things don't go according to plan and Jones has to enlist the help of a young woman (Laraine Day) to track down a group of spies. Herbert Marshall, George Sanders and Robert Benchley also headline this movie which was nominated for six 1940 Academy Awards®, including Best Picture.
The DVD bonus content will include:
SUSPICION - Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine star. Fontaine as well-to-do wallflower Lina McLaidlaw, in love and perhaps in danger. She suspects that Johnnie Aysgarth (Grant), the playboy who swept into her life and married her, is a murderer and she's his next intended victim. Fontaine's striking performance won the Academy Award® as 1941's Best Actress.
The DVD bonus content will include:
THE WRONG MAN - In this dramatization of a true story, based on an actual incident reported in Life Magazine, a man is tried for crimes committed by a look-alike robber. Henry Fonda plays musician Manny Balestrero, a man full of visible but unspoken rage at his wrongful arrest. Vera Miles plays his distraught wife. Hitchcock makes New York City the star of the film and cast real-life Balestrero case witnesses in small roles.
The extra features included on the DVD are:
STAGE FRIGHT - Jane Wyman stars as drama student Eve Gill who tries to clear a friend, John Cooper (Richard Todd), being framed for murder by becoming the maid of flamboyant stage star Charlotte Inwood (Marlene Dietrich). Cooper's affair with Inwood has made him a suspect in the death of Inwood's husband. Hitchcock juggles elements of humor and whodunit and put his terrific ensemble (Alastair Sim, Sybil Thorndike, Joyce Grenfell, Kay Walsh and daughter Patricia Hitchcock) through its paces.
The DVD bonus content will include:
I CONFESS - Father Michael Logan (Montgomery Clift), a model of clerical piety, hears a killer's confession. Eyewitnesses point to a priest as the murderer and the sacrament of penance forbids Logan to speak out - even in his own defense - when circumstantial evidence targets Logan as the prime suspect. Anne Baxter and Karl Malden co-star as a former flame and a police inspector whose attempts to clear Logan only entrap him further. The extra features included on the DVD are:
MR. AND MRS. SMITH - Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery star in this breezy Hitchcock comedy as Annie and David Smith, married but battling for three years. When a technicality voids their union, Annie asks David to marry her again, but he confides to her he is missing his freedom and he wants to have some fun. They start a new life, as though they had never been married, going out with friends and meeting members of the opposite sex. At the beginning the game seems to be fun, but jealousy quickly sets in.
The DVD bonus content will include:
STRANGERS ON A TRAIN - En route from Washington, D.C., champion tennis player Guy Haines (Farley Granger) meets pushy playboy Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker). What begins as a chance encounter turns into a series of morbid confrontations, as Bruno manipulates his way into Guy's life. Bruno is eager to kill his father and knows Guy wants to marry a senator's daughter (Ruth Roman) but can't get a divorce from his wife. So Bruno suggests the men swap murders, which would leave no traceable clues or possible motives. Though Guy refuses, it won't be easy to rid himself of the psychopathic Bruno. Hitchcock's daughter Patricia appears in this film.
The extra features included on the DVD are:
North by Northwest - Nominated for three Academy Awards® including Best Screenplay, what Leonard Maltin called "one of the all-time great entertainments" stars Cary Grant as a Manhattan advertising executive mistaken for a spy who escapes kidnapping and dodges a murder frame-up. Eventually, he eludes a notorious low-flying cropduster and, in the film's exciting climax, rescues Eva Marie Saint on Mount Rushmore.
The extra features included on the DVD are:
Each DVD will be presented in a format preserving the aspect ratio of its original theatrical exhibition and will include the original theatrical trailer, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish.
