Brad Bird first made his mark by writing and directing a satiric short entitled "The Family Dog" which aired in 1987 as part of Steven Spielberg's anthology series, Amazing Stories. He also worked as a writer and director on the ground-breaking series, The Simpsons, before turning his attention to the big screen with THE IRON GIANT, his animated homage to 1950 science fiction movies.

power of the U.S. military mobilizing to demolish the "alien invader?"

With a little bit of help from his junkyard dealer buddy Dean (Harry Connick Jr.) and his skeptical mother Annie (Jennifer Aniston), Hogarth is about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime and, along the way, learn a very valuable lesson about trust and friendship. THE IRON GIANT Special Edition DVD will be presented in the Letterbox format with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and include the following bonus materials:

"When I realized last year that we were approaching the ten-year anniversary of the theatrical release of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to respond to fans' requests for a Special Edition DVD," Darabont notes, "I'm really thrilled that Warner Home Video agreed. The picture and sound are new, sparkling, state-of-the-art transfers that will take your breath away. We've made every effort to create supplemental materials that are both comprehensive and satisfying, the highlights of which are two superb documentaries totalling nearly ninety minutes." In addition to the 10th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition DVD release, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION will have an exclusive two-week limited theatrical engagement beginning September 24 in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle and Austin. Darabont added, "I'm hoping fans who first discovered the film on video will take this opportunity to see it in theaters before they check out the new DVD, because that's the way the movie was truly meant to be seen."

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, the emotionally moving portrayal of a friendship between men under the harshest of circumstances, stars Academy Award® winning actor Tim Robbins (Mystic River, Bull Durham) and Academy Award® nominee Morgan Freeman (Driving Miss Daisy, Unforgiven, Bruce Almighty). Based on Stephen King's novella "Rita Hayworth and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION," the movie won Frank Darabont an Oscar® nomination for his adapted screenplay and critical acclaim for his directorial debut. Mr. Darabont is one of only six filmmakers in history with the unique distinction of having his first two feature films receive nominations for the Best Picture Academy Award: 1994's THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and 1999's The Green Mile.

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION actually found its own 'redemption' on home video. While the film was considered an underachiever at the box office, the subsequent critical acclaim along with positive word of mouth, resulted in an explosive home video debut, topping the charts in 1995, before the DVD revolution began. It has maintained a strong following over the last decade and consistently ranks #1 or #2 on the Internet Movie Database's (IMDB) User Poll of the top 250 movies.

He meets governess Rachel Drummond and is amazed at her resemblance to his long-lost love, Josette. A suspicious Quentin enlists sorcerer Evan Hanley to raise a spirit to combat Barnabas, resulting in the appearance of Angelique, the vengeful witch.

DARK SHADOWS was the most popular daytime drama during its 1966-71 run on ABC-TV and commanded a devoted audience with reruns for ten years on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Award-winning British actor David Jason stars as the gritty Detective Inspector Jack Frost, in A TOUCH OF FROST SEASON 3 to be released by MPI Home Video on DVD and VHS on July 27, 2004. The set includes 3 DVDs or 4 VHS tapes.

David Jason has been honored numerous times by The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) for his portrayal of Jack Frost. He has earned awards for Best Male Performer (1993), Most Popular Actor (1997) and Best TV Cop Programme (1997).

This enormously popular crime drama first aired in the U.K. in 1992. It continues to be one of the most-watched programs on the ITV1 network. A TOUCH OF FROST SEASON 3 includes the following programs: "Appropriate Adults," "Quarry," "Dead Male One," and "No Refuge."

Set in the dreary suburb of Denton near Bristol in southern England, Jack Frost is a cantankerous and short-tempered copper, who prefers the nitty gritty of detective work to following police procedures. His daily routine often involves dodging the police superintendent, Norman "Horn-rimmed Harry" Mullett or clashing with Sandy Longford, Denton's resident nosy newspaper reporter. But, when it comes to solving crimes, Frost leads the charge to bring justice to the common man.

"Appropriate Adults" concerns the mystery of a missing 8 year-old girl who was last seen by a young man with Down's Syndrome. Frost's superiors believe the young man is guilty, but Jack takes a different lead to find the girl's kidnappers.

In "Quarry," an animal rights group protests a foxhunt in Denton and one of the activists is found murdered. Detective Constable Clive Barnard, the chief constable's nephew, returns to help solve the case. Jack gets closer with Shirley Fisher.

In "Dead Male One," the mystery of a murdered man in the river deepens when Frost discovers that the man's driver's license actually belongs to someone else. A star player on the local soccer team collapses during a press conference. Was he poisoned? Jack and Shirley Fisher take a big step in their relationship.

In "No Refuge," multiple burglaries in the same home lead Frost to a surprising arrest. Jack and a female detective sergeant are called to a local factory where a robbery and murder have been committed. The owner identifies a suspect but goes into hiding when his life is threatened.

Warner Home Video Debuts the First Two Titles in the New Branded Line of Lifetime Home Entertainment Product

Warner Home Video kicks-off its new Lifetime Home Entertainment product line with the Emmy-nominated HOMELESS TO HARVARD and critically-acclaimed OBSESSED, two of Lifetime Television's top-rated original movies.

Both titles will be available in stores September 7 and will be sold for $19.98 (SRP) each.

Nominated for three Emmys, including Outstanding Made for Television Movie, HOMELESS TO HARVARD is an inspiring drama based on the remarkable true story of Liz Murray. Touchingly portrayed by Thora Birch (Ghost World, American Beauty), who earned an Emmy nomination for the role, Murray was raised in poverty by drug-addicted parents. Though loved by her parents, they were unable to care for her and she ended up living on the streets by the age of 15. Profoundly affected by her mother's (portrayed by Kelly Lynch, Charlie's Angels, Drugstore Cowboy) AIDS-related death, Murray forced herself to look at her future and make some significant changes. Her prospects were dismal, yet she turned her life around by going back to high school. After earning her diploma in just two years, while still homeless, Murray won a New York Times scholarship for needy students, which enabled her to attend Harvard University.

HOMELESS TO HARVARD will be rebroadcast on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network just before the DVD's September 7th street date. The film was Lifetime's number one rated movie of 2003 and number one original movie on all of basic cable among women, seen by 12.3 million total viewers. It was Lifetime's seventh highest rated movie since the network launched its successful Lifetime Original Movie franchise in 1990. Special features on the DVD include an interview with the real Liz Murray as well as an inspirational message from her.

OBSESSED, directed by Emmy and Oscar-nominated director John Badham (War Games, Saturday Night Fever), is the gripping psychological thriller about a gifted and intelligent medical writer jailed for an alleged obsession with a married doctor. Starring Jenna Elfman, (Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Dharma and Greg), OBSESSED focuses on the story of Ellena Roberts, a smart, successful woman who recounts the details of a one-night stand that led to a heated love affair with prominent surgeon David Stillman (Sam Robards, AI: Artificial Intelligence, American Beauty). David's version of the facts differs entirely and he insists that he never slept with Ellena. Sure that the doctor is lying, Ellena's lawyer prepares to defend her client in court when some disturbing facts emerge. Based on a true story, OBSESSED is one of Lifetime's highest rated original movies, seen by 11.9 million total viewers. OBSESSED will be rebroadcast on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network just before the DVD's September 7th street date.

Special features on the DVD include on-the-set interviews with the film's cast and director.

Regarding the announcement, Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing said, "We are delighted to launch the branded line of Lifetime home entertainment product with HOMELESS TO HARVARD and OBSESSED, both of which are examples of the quality, outstanding programming the network consistently delivers to its viewers. With made-for-television movies becoming more popular and women's DVD buying power increasing, the time is perfect to present Lifetime Original Movies on DVD to their enormous, loyal female fan base. We think consumers will be thrilled to learn they can now make two of their favorite Lifetime Original Movies part of their DVD libraries."

"Lifetime Original Movies are best known for heartfelt, true-to-life dramas such as HOMELESS TO HARVARD," said Adam Lewinson, Vice President of Home Entertainment at Lifetime. "We wanted our first release to also reflect some of the different dimensions of our movies, so we included OBSESSED, an exceptionally well-crafted thriller with very broad appeal. Future releases from Lifetime Home Entertainment will round out our diverse catalog with romantic comedies and holiday movies."

HOMELESS TO HARVARD and OBSESSED are the first two titles to be launched under the WHV and Lifetime Entertainment Services exclusive home entertainment distribution agreement. The multi-year arrangement marks Lifetime's first ever home entertainment distribution agreement for Lifetime Original Movies, which WHV will distribute exclusively in the US.

If you love Italian cuisine, you'll love cooking with Chef Pasquale Carpino on PASQUALE’S KITCHEN EXPRESS VOLUME 1, to be released on DVD from MPI Home Video on July 27, 2004. In 1959, Chef Pasquale arrived in the U.S. from Calabria in southern Italy, with eight dollars in his pocket, a guitar on his back and very few words of English. He rose to international fame as the "singing chef," who breaks into his favorite opera arias and Neapolitan fishing songs while preparing the day's menu.

Before the widespread popularity of the Food Network, PASQUALE’S KITCHEN EXPRESS was an afternoon favorite on the Discovery Channel. The series ran from 1989-1992, and was the #1 rated daytime television program. During each show, Chef Pasquale keeps everyone entertained with his lively banter and his own personal beliefs about cooking, stating that, "Mama is the best chef," and "The best restaurant in the world is home."

His philosophy of "la cucina expressa" is to cook a full-course meal for four people in less than 30 minutes using market fresh ingredients. His dishes call for ample use of sauces, fresh herbs and wine. He also creates unique combinations, such as lamb chops in an orange barbecue sauce or penne pasta with bacon and dandelion. Homemade chicken stock is added to almost all dishes, as are liberal amounts of cheese, and, of course lots of garlic! Pasquale believes that no food should be wasted, finding imaginative ways to use everyday ingredients.

The MPI Home Video release of PASQUALE’S KITCHEN EXPRESS VOLUME 1 includes programs that have not previously aired in the U.S. Episodes include:

Initiate jump sequence for five out-of-this-world feature-length epics about key events in the acclaimed Babylon 5 chronology - THE GATHERING, IN THE BEGINNING, THIRDSPACE, RIVER OF SOULS and A CALL TO ARMS. Debuting on DVD August 17 and priced to own at $59.98 SRP from Warner Home Video, BABYLON 5: THE MOVIES will be available in a special five-disc collector's set featuring all-new introductions to and original audio commentaries on each movie by series creator J. Michael Straczynski and select cast and crew.

THE GATHERING - Alien envoys come to the giant space station in the pilot episode that laid the foundation for the groundbreaking five-year TV series. Set on a space station in the late 23rd Century, Babylon 5 is a centre of diplomacy and trade, in neutral space located between many rival space empires. The project's success, already shaky, is put further in doubt when incoming Commander Jeffrey Sinclair is the key suspect in the attempted assassination of Kosh, a mysterious alien ambassador.

IN THE BEGINNING - The Babylon 5 prequel! It's humans vs. aliens in the battle that led to the station's creation. Londo Mollari tells the whole story, from when Earth's military first meets the alien race of the Minbari. After a succession of misunderstandings and accidents, war breaks out, killing almost every human on Earth. The war and its aftermath provide the background for the resulting TV series Babylon 5.

THIRDSPACE - Is there a realm beyond hyperspace? Discovery of a million-years-old gateway technology may hold the answer...and more! The artifact influences the minds of people aboard the station and endangers the lives of everyone.

RIVER OF SOULS - After death, then what? Questions of eternity arise when a supposedly infallible harvester of souls proves to be very fallible. Captain Lochley now has solid proof that Garibaldi is a disaster magnet: when he comes to the station to meet with one of his new company's subordinates, she's being sued by the owner of an illegal virtual reality "holo-brothel" and besieged by Soul Hunters looking for one of their soul vessels, this one containing the souls of the long-lost Ralga alien species.

A CALL TO ARMS - The torch is passed. Five years after the events of the Babylon 5 series, a race against time to save Earth links the B5 mission with the Rangers' new interstellar efforts.

"The remarkable legacy of Babylon 5 lives on still with this exciting collection of TV movies that are an extension of the award-winning series. With the complete five seasons of the TV series now available on DVD, we were certain the legions of B5 fans would be excited to complete their collection with the DVD set of the BABYLON 5: THE MOVIES collection," said Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President, Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing. Babylon 5 has won two Emmy Awards for Groundbreaking Visual Effects and Makeup as well as the 1998 Science Fiction Writers of America Ray Bradbury Award. It also earned the 1999 Saturn Award for Best Genre Cable/Syndicated Series from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. Babylon 5 was recently named one of the top 25 cult TV classics of all time by TV Guide.

A children's ghost story comes to terrifying life in this gut-wrenching thriller about a graduate student whose research into modern folklore summons the spirit of the dead.  Helen Lyle (Madsen) laughs when she interviews college freshmen about their superstitions.  But when she hears about the urban legend of Candyman, a slave spirit with a hook hand who is said to haunt Chicago's notorious Cabrini-Green housing project, she thinks she has a new twist for her thesis.  Braving the gang-ridden territory to visit the site of a brutal murder, Helen arrogantly assumes Candyman can't really exist - until she says his name in the mirror five times and he appears, igniting a string of tragic slayings.  But the police don't believe in ghosts, and they charge Helen with the grisly crimes.  Now only one person can set her free - CANDYMAN! Co-starring Xander Berkeley (TV's "24"), Kasi Lemmons (The Silence of the Lambs) and Vanessa L. Williams (TV's "Soul Food"), CANDYMAN was skillfully directed by Bernard Rose (Immortal Beloved).

Golden Globe® Winner Rutger Hauer and Natasha Richardson Heat up the Screen in the Steamy Crime Thriller

Past passion.  Past terror.  Past murder.  Golden Globe® winner Rutger Hauer (1988 TV's "Escape from Sobibor," Blind Fury) stars alongside Natasha Richardson (The Comfort of Strangers, The Handmaid's Tale), Clancy Brown (TV's "Carnivale," The Shawshank Redemption), Paul Giamatti (American Splendor, Paycheck) and Tom Wright (Barbershop, Sunshine State) in the engrossing romantic thriller PAST MIDNIGHT debuting on DVD August 17 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

After serving 15 years in jail for being falsely accused of murdering his pregnant wife, Ben Jordan (Hauer) is released from prison.  During his parole meetings, his beautiful and intelligent social worker Laura Matthews (Richardson) becomes convinced he was innocent of the crime. As she researches his case, and interviews other people who were involved, she begins to fall in love with him, as her friends warn her that he's dangerous.

However, as she pieces together the puzzle of the events on that horrible night, she uncovers inconsistencies in the police records that may or may not prove his innocence.  The shocking secrets are ultimately revealed one evening as her life is threatened in her own home by an unknown person who does know the truth and forces her to doubt Ben in the chilling climax.  An intriguing, suspense-filled erotic thriller in the tradition of In The Cut and Basic Instinct, PAST MIDNIGHT is directed by Jan Eliasberg (TVs "Miami Vice," "21 Jump Street").

Keep up with the struggles and the laughs of the Evans family as they try to make ends meet on the south side of Chicago in this groundbreaking 1970s classic sitcom.  Featuring all 24 episodes, GOOD TIMES: THE THIRD SEASON debuts August 10 on a must-have three-disc DVD set, available for $29.95 SLP from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

From TV veteran Norman Lear ("All in the Family," "Sanford and Son" and many more hit TV series) and starring Emmy Award® - winning actress Esther Rolle and Emmy® - nominated actor John Amos, GOOD TIMES was that rare hit show which struck a chord with audiences of all colors.  A spin-off of "Maude," GOOD TIMES altered America's cultural landscape by tackling topical, often controversial issues from a uniquely African American perspective, while still managing to deliver heart-warming laughs.  The trailblazing show also made a star of jive-talkin' comedian Jimmie Walker whose catch phrase "DY-NO-MITE!" became part of '70s pop culture.

Living's rarely easy in the Chicago housing projects, but the Evans family never gives up trying to make the best of things.  Parents Florida and James struggle to provide for the family while their sons J.J., an aspiring painter, and Michael, the undying political crusader, cause trouble while their sister stands between them as the voice of reason.  They may struggle to survive, but life is never boring.  The popular third season tackled topical themes from venereal disease to the U.S. Bicentennial and plot points like J.J.'s surprising engagement, Thelma's man troubles, Michael's problems in school, and James buying a gun to protect his family from local crime.

Night Shyamalan, plus a new making-of documentary with Farley Granger, film historian Richard Schickel, Patricia Hitchcock O'Connell and other Hitchcock family members and colleagues recalling the making of this suspense landmark, and other intriguing bonus features.

The Director

Born in London in 1899, Hitchcock became interested in film at a young age and, following his dream, secured his first job at age 21 designing titles for a movie studio. He got his first chance at directing when the director of Always Tell Your Wife (1923) fell ill and Hitchcock had to complete the film. Impressed by his work, English studio chiefs gave him the opportunity to direct his own film, Number 13 (1922), however, before it was finished, the studio closed down its British operation. He then served as assistant director on several more films, after which he was hired to direct The Pleasure Garden (1925).

Hitchcock's next film, The Lodger, was a resounding success and he ultimately become the most successful and highest paid director in England. At the onset of World War II, he emigrated to the United States where he went on to become one of the most widely known and influential directors in motion picture history.

Although he was nominated for five Best Director Academy Awards®, Hitchcock never won, but in 1968 he was chosen to receive the Academy's Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. "Hitch," as he was known to so many, accepted it with a simple "Thank you." Hitchcock continued to write, produce and direct films until 1979 when he was awarded the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award. He died the following year, in 1980.

The Films

DIAL M FOR MURDER - Alfred Hitchcock's screen version of Frederick Knott's stage hit stars one of Hitchcock's favorites, Grace Kelly, along with Ray Milland and Robert Cummings as the points of a romantic triangle -- Margot Mary Wendice (Kelly), her lover Mark Halliday (Cummings) and her husband Tony Wendice (Milland), who's plotting her murder. But when Tony dials a Mayfair exchange to set the plot in motion, his right number gets the wrong answer.

The extra features included on the DVD are:

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT - A classic Hitchcock suspenser about an intrepid American reporter, John Jones (Joel McCrea), who thinks he's stumbled across the biggest story in prewar Europe. Things don't go according to plan and Jones has to enlist the help of a young woman (Laraine Day) to track down a group of spies. Herbert Marshall, George Sanders and Robert Benchley also headline this movie which was nominated for six 1940 Academy Awards®, including Best Picture.

The DVD bonus content will include:

SUSPICION - Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine star. Fontaine as well-to-do wallflower Lina McLaidlaw, in love and perhaps in danger. She suspects that Johnnie Aysgarth (Grant), the playboy who swept into her life and married her, is a murderer and she's his next intended victim. Fontaine's striking performance won the Academy Award® as 1941's Best Actress.

The DVD bonus content will include:

THE WRONG MAN - In this dramatization of a true story, based on an actual incident reported in Life Magazine, a man is tried for crimes committed by a look-alike robber. Henry Fonda plays musician Manny Balestrero, a man full of visible but unspoken rage at his wrongful arrest. Vera Miles plays his distraught wife. Hitchcock makes New York City the star of the film and cast real-life Balestrero case witnesses in small roles.

The extra features included on the DVD are:

STAGE FRIGHT - Jane Wyman stars as drama student Eve Gill who tries to clear a friend, John Cooper (Richard Todd), being framed for murder by becoming the maid of flamboyant stage star Charlotte Inwood (Marlene Dietrich). Cooper's affair with Inwood has made him a suspect in the death of Inwood's husband. Hitchcock juggles elements of humor and whodunit and put his terrific ensemble (Alastair Sim, Sybil Thorndike, Joyce Grenfell, Kay Walsh and daughter Patricia Hitchcock) through its paces.

The DVD bonus content will include:

I CONFESS - Father Michael Logan (Montgomery Clift), a model of clerical piety, hears a killer's confession. Eyewitnesses point to a priest as the murderer and the sacrament of penance forbids Logan to speak out - even in his own defense - when circumstantial evidence targets Logan as the prime suspect. Anne Baxter and Karl Malden co-star as a former flame and a police inspector whose attempts to clear Logan only entrap him further. The extra features included on the DVD are:

MR. AND MRS. SMITH - Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery star in this breezy Hitchcock comedy as Annie and David Smith, married but battling for three years. When a technicality voids their union, Annie asks David to marry her again, but he confides to her he is missing his freedom and he wants to have some fun. They start a new life, as though they had never been married, going out with friends and meeting members of the opposite sex. At the beginning the game seems to be fun, but jealousy quickly sets in.

The DVD bonus content will include:

STRANGERS ON A TRAIN - En route from Washington, D.C., champion tennis player Guy Haines (Farley Granger) meets pushy playboy Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker). What begins as a chance encounter turns into a series of morbid confrontations, as Bruno manipulates his way into Guy's life. Bruno is eager to kill his father and knows Guy wants to marry a senator's daughter (Ruth Roman) but can't get a divorce from his wife. So Bruno suggests the men swap murders, which would leave no traceable clues or possible motives. Though Guy refuses, it won't be easy to rid himself of the psychopathic Bruno. Hitchcock's daughter Patricia appears in this film.

The extra features included on the DVD are:

North by Northwest - Nominated for three Academy Awards® including Best Screenplay, what Leonard Maltin called "one of the all-time great entertainments" stars Cary Grant as a Manhattan advertising executive mistaken for a spy who escapes kidnapping and dodges a murder frame-up. The extra features included on the DVD are:

Each DVD will be presented in a format preserving the aspect ratio of its original theatrical exhibition and will include the original theatrical trailer, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish.

Multiple Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Series Will Make its DVD Debut Featuring 22 Episodes and a Wide Selection of Special Features

Warner Home Video (WHV) has found what has been missing from everyone's DVD library, WITHOUT A TRACE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, the powerful, Emmy Award-winning investigative drama which will make its debut on DVD September 7th. WHV will release the much-anticipated title with several engaging special features including unaired scenes, the director's uncut finale and much more. Executive produced by prolific television and film producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, CSI: Miami, Pearl Harbor) all 22 episodes of the series' award-winning first season will be available in a four-disc collector's edition for $59.98 (SRP).

Rated the # 2 new drama of the 2002-2003 season, WITHOUT A TRACE won two Emmy Awards during its debut season and a Golden Globe Award in 2004. Gripping and fast-paced, the series focuses on the Missing Persons Squad of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. By applying advanced psychological profiling techniques, the special task force is able to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in order to determine if the missing person has been abducted, murdered, committed suicide or has simply run away. The team reconstructs a "Day of Disappearance" timeline that details every minute of the 24 hours prior to the disappearance, following one simple rule: learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is.

The show's talented ensemble cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, who earned a Golden Globe Award for his role as senior agent Jack Malone. Malone heads the dedicated team that knows too well that every second counts when someone vanishes. His squad includes Samantha Spade (Poppy Montgomery), an agent whose good looks belie a tough, complex approach to her work; Vivian Johnson (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), a no-nonsense investigator; Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano) an intense and private agent; and Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close), the newest member of the team, considered a lightweight by the squad because his only experience involves fighting white-collar crime.

Regarding the announcement, Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President, Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing said, "WITHOUT A TRACE is a high-caliber series, complimented by brilliant casting, outstanding acting, powerful and compelling storylines that are executed with skill and sensitivity. Furthermore, the program has garnered tremendous critical acclaim, high viewership levels and has developed a growing, loyal fan base, which is why we decided to bring the series to DVD."

Special features to be included on WITHOUT A TRACE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON include:

THE COMPLETE GIDGET COLLECTION follows the summer vacations of America's favorite teenage surfer girl as she travels the world in search of fun, love and excitement.  Bask in the California sun (GIDGET) and then catch a wave that spans from Waikiki (GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN) to Rome (GIDGET GOES TO ROME) all with Gidget and steady beau, Moondoggie, and their fun-in-the-sun adventures.

GIDGET: The comic misadventures of a 16-year-old tomboy Gidget (Sandra Dee), whose efforts to get a handsome young surfer, Moondoggie (James Darren), to notice her also draws her to the attention of the king of the Malibu "surf bums," the Big Kahoona (Cliff Robertson) himself!

GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN: When a Hawaiian family vacation separates Gidget (Deborah Walley) from Moondoggie (James Darren), she does what any average American teenager would do -- she finds new romance -- which leads to comic complications when steady beau Moondoggie (James Darren) jets in to surprise her.

Elvis Presley fans will rejoice as Warner Home Video helps celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll with the release of six of the King's popular movies -- IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR, DOUBLE TROUBLE, SPEEDWAY, Spinout, HARUM SCARUM and THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS.  Each of the new DVDs feature an Elvis Presley trailer gallery and all are available August 3 at $14.97 SRP.

Elvis's first film for MGM since 1957's landmark Jailhouse Rock and the first of more than a dozen movies Presley would do for that studio, IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR returns to the home entertainment market for the first time since 1992.  A very young Kurt Russell, who grew up to play Elvis in 1979's biopic and later appear in 3000 Miles to Graceland, makes an early film appearance.

Over the course of his career, the king of rock 'n' roll starred in 31 feature films and two theatrically released concert documentaries.  His music was as much a part of his box office success as his good looks, sensuality and charisma.  In fact, some of his top-selling songs were from the movie soundtracks.  Eleven of his soundtrack albums made it into the top ten on the Billboard Top 100 Album charts and of those, four became number one hits.  He had 30 hit singles that went to #1.

IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR (1963) -- The 1962 Seattle World's Fair with its showpiece Space Needle and monorail provide the setting for this rollicking adventure.  When pilot-for-hire Mike (Presley) gets grounded by his co-pilot's (Gary Lockwood) gambling debts, the pair decides to hitch to Seattle where Mike finds love, Danny finds easy marks, and both find big problems to solve.  Elvis has ten songs in this movie including Happy Ending, Relax and the gold record One Broken Heart for Sale.  A young Kurt Russell plays the child who wallops Mike in the shins.

DOUBLE TROUBLE (1967) -- In this comedic mystery romp, Elvis portrays Guy Lambert, a singer on tour in London who gets involved with a love-struck teenage heiress (Annette Day), a sexy temptress (Yvonne Romain) and a jewel smuggling operation.  Who knew trouble could be so cool and so much fun!  Some of the songs from this movie include City by Night, Could I Fall in Love, Long-Legged Girl and There's So Much World to See.

SPEEDWAY (1968) -- In this high-octane laugh fest, Elvis Presley sings his way around the race circuit as successful SPEEDWAY driver Steve Grayson until his wise-cracking manager (Bill Bixby) files a bad tax return.  The engines rev-up and the chase begins when IRS agent (Nancy Sinatra) arrives on the scene.  The laughs in this film are further enhanced by talented comic actors, Gale Gordon (The Lucy Show) and Carl Ballantine (McHale's Navy).  Music includes songs such as There Ain't Nothing like a Song, Let Yourself Go, Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby and Your Groovy Self.

SPEEDWAY (1966) - Mike McCoy (Presley), a part-time race car driver and lead singer for a band combo, has his foot on the gas and his eyes on the road as three women with marriage on their minds race after him.  Shelley Fabares (his co-star in Girl Happy) plays the rich girl spoiled by her wealthy father (Carl Betz, who also played her father on TV's  The Donna Reed Show).  Deborah Walley (GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN) is the drummer in his band looking to beat out a rhythm to his heart and Diane McBain (General Hospital, Days of our Lives) plays a writer researching a book about "The Perfect American Male."  Songs include Never Say Yes, Adam and Evil, All That I Am and Stop, Look Listen. In this film there are no brakes on the fun.

HARUM SCARUM (1965) - Johnny Tyronne (Presley) is a swashbuckling action-adventure movie star and ladies' man on a goodwill tour of the Middle East to promote his latest film.  He is kidnapped by a clandestine group of assassins that want him to kill a desert king.  Sand and songs swirl throughout this tale as Johnny escapes and heads back to civilization but not without teaming up with former Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley.  The film was directed by former movie hoofer Gene Nelson (OKLAHOMA!) and features such song hits as Kismet and Harem Holiday.

THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS (1969)- This comedy/drama is a change of pace for Elvis as he tackles the challenges of Walter Hale, a manager of a 1927 traveling show that starts to develop some trouble when it hits Radford Center, Iowa.  The film is packed with colorful co-stars including Vincent Price, Marlyn Mason, John Carradine, Joyce Van Patten, Edward Andrews, Sheree North and Dabney Coleman.  Almost is one of the songs in the film which also has Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Clean Up Your Own Backyard on the soundtrack.

Ralph Macchio, Jami Gertz and Joe Seneca Star in the Coming-of-Age Musical Drama From Director Walter Hill with Music by Ry Cooder

An inspirational and passionate film for blues music fans, CROSSROADS is the musical drama loosely based on the mythic character of Faust and the American fable involving real-life Mississippi blues music legend Robert Johnson, starring Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid, My Cousin Vinny), Jami Gertz (Jersey Girl, TVs "Still Standing") and Joe Seneca (A Time to Kill, Mo Better Blues), debuting for the first time on DVD August 10 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Young musical prodigy Eugene Martone (Macchio) is a classically trained guitarist studying at New York's Julliard School who becomes obsessed with early blues music. Intent on discovering the whereabouts of Robert Johnson's unpublished 30th song recorded 50 years prior, Eugene seeks out the legendary bluesman Willie Brown (Seneca) at a Harlem nursing home.  Willie promises to teach Eugene the song if the young man helps him get back to a Mississippi crossroads, where he can win back his soul from the Devil, which he sold in exchange for musical greatness many decades before.  Making their way across the Mississippi Delta, the duo meets Frances (Gertz), a runaway who becomes a love interest for Eugene.  In the end, the fate of Willie's soul will rely upon his young student to defeat the Devil's henchman (heavy metal virtuoso Steve Vai) in a climactic guitar battle. Based on a contest-winning script by former blues musician John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo) and featuring the acclaimed motion picture soundtrack written and performed by Ry Cooder (Buena Vista Social Club), CROSSROADS is directed by Walter Hill (48 Hours, Streets of Fire).

"ChromaChoice" Feature Allows Viewers to Seamlessly Move From Original B&W to Color Version of Films on DVD Two Classic Three Stooges DVDS to Launch New Technology on August 10, 2004

Heralding a new era of accurately restored and hi-def remastered classic films, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (CTHE) unveiled today an innovative "Color+B&W" production process designed to broaden the appeal of classic black and white films and to introduce them to a new generation of viewers. These DVDs will also feature CTHE's "ChromaChoice" feature which allows viewers to toggle between the original black and white version of a film and its colorized version in a seamless manner using the DVD remote. The new technologies will debut with the August 10 release of two Three Stooges DVDs - THE THREE STOOGES: GOOFS ON THE LOOSE and THE THREE STOOGES: STOOGED AND CONFOOSED.

Beyond Colorization

Unlike previous attempts at colorization, the new "Color+B&W" production process avoids the many pitfalls that have plagued other such projects in the past.  Each film is extensively researched in advance and exhaustive efforts are made to utilize as many original source elements as possible. The original black and white masters for these titles are faithfully restored, then subsequently remastered in full 1080i hi-definition video for the highest picture quality. In addition, thanks to film elements and production items saved in the Columbia Pictures archives, many of the original production elements (i.e. props, cloth swatches, etc.) were available for reference. Finally, through collaboration with West Wing Studios whose talented artists have years of experience in color designing, the highest level of historical accuracy is achieved in the images.

"This highly refined coloring process brings incredible new life to black and white classics and has the potential to win over a more contemporary audience for these films," noted Lexine Wong, CTHE's Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.  "Additionally, for the first time, DVD allows us to include both versions on one DVD by giving viewers the choice to view these films in either their original black and white format or their new color state.

Our new ChromaChoice feature allows you to toggle instantaneously between the B & W and color versions while viewing.  These "Color and B&W" releases insure the integrity of the film's original presentation. It all adds up to a truly unique DVD experience - one that provides classic film enthusiasts with more options and enjoyment than ever before."

October, 1989 was a bad time to fall into a coma if you lived in East Germany - and this is precisely what happens to Alex's proudly socialist mother. Alex has a big problem on his hands when she suddenly awakens eight months later. Her heart is so weak that any shock might kill her. And what could be more shocking than the fall of the Berlin Wall and the triumph of capitalism in her beloved East Germany?  To save his mother, Alex transforms the family apartment into an island of the past, a kind of socialist-era museum where his mother is lovingly duped into believing that nothing has changed.  What begins as a little white lie turns into a major scam as Alex's sister and selected neighbors are recruited to maintain the elaborate ruse - and keep her believing that Lenin really did triumph after all!

Warner Home Video celebrates the DVD debut of five of the best-loved family films of all time, starring animal heroes Lassie and Flipper in the original film classics that inspired generations of children. LASSIE COME HOME, the first full-length Lassie feature starring Elizabeth Taylor, Roddy McDowall and Lassie, everyone's favorite canine hero, will arrive for the very first time on DVD August 24 along with two sequels -- SON OF LASSIE and THE COURAGE OF LASSIE. In addition, the two "fintastic" dolphin adventures FLIPPER and FLIPPER’S NEW ADVENTURE, will make their DVD debuts. Each will be priced at $14.97 SRP.

About Lassie

Created by British writer Eric Knight for a 1938 Saturday Evening Post short story, Lassie was released in book form as "LASSIE COME HOME" in 1940. The novel met with immediate popularity in the United States as well as in Great Britain, and when it was made into the 1943 feature film, Lassie became an American embodiment of courage, faithfulness, and determination, ideals which still resonate deeply with families today.

Starring young Elizabeth Taylor (in only her second film), Roddy McDowall, LASSIE COME HOME is the first of the seven full-length Lassie feature films made between 1943 and 1953 which inspired the subsequent long-running television series. Described by Leonard Maltin as "Winning and wonderful; One of the all-time great family films," LASSIE COME HOME chronicles the initial adventure of the faithful collie who, after being sold by her poor family struggling to survive the depression, embarks on a danger-filled 1,000 mile journey to return home.

This war-themed film sequel to LASSIE COME HOME features June Lockhart and Peter Lawford playing the adult roles that Elizabeth Taylor and Roddy McDowall portrayed as children. At the height of World War II, dogs are being trained to assist the war effort and Lassie's son, Laddie, sneaks off with his owner (Lawford), who's joined the army and is headed for his first bombing mission over Nazi-occupied Norway.

The third Lassie feature centers around Bill, a pup who's been separated from his mother. At first, he has no one to love except other animals, until he's found by a young girl (Elizabeth Taylor), who adopts him and raises him for her own. But a tragic car accident separates the two and Bill becomes drafted for a WW II K-9 unit until battle fatigue overwhelms him. He turns vicious and has to be rehabilitated once he returns home.

About Flipper

Much like Lassie, Flipper has become a favorite American icon, so well recognized that old and young can still hum along if anyone even whispers "Flip-per Flip-per, faster than light-ning, No one you see is smarter than he..." Flipper is best known for being playful, mischievous, and child-like as he continually lures his owners into scrapes, and then helps them get out again. Flipper was portrayed by a female dolphin named Mitzi who nudged wayward boats to safety, knocked guns out of poachers' hands with well-timed leaps and warned Bud and Sandy whenever danger lurked; a male stunt dolphin, Mr. Gipper, performed all of Flipper's tail-walking scenes.

Flipper's back with new friends and new adventures. This time he's got to help rescue an English family that's being held captive by modern-day pirates. Filmed on location in the Bahamas and Key Biscayne, Florida, Luke Halpin (Sandy) and Flipper save the day once again.

All DVDs are close-captioned with English language mono soundtracks. The Lassie films are available in their standard original aspect ratios, while the Flipper films are available in their widescreen original aspect ratios.

Lucas's Visionary, Independent First Feature
Two-Disc DVD Features New Documentary Exploring Birth of Bay Area's Revolutionary American Zoetrope
Director's Cut of Influential
THX 1138 Scheduled for 20-City Theatrical Release Beginning September 10

Director George Lucas's widely influential first film, the prescient science-fiction adventure THX 1138, debuts on DVD September 14 from Warner Home Video in a Two-Disc Collector's Edition that features The George Lucas Director's Cut of the film. The Two-Disc Collector's Edition DVD will sell for $26.99 SRP. THX 1138 will also be available in a single-disc version with limited special features and will sell for $19.97 SRP.

A theatrical release of the film will precede the DVD release and will begin on September 10 in 20 cities including Ann Arbor, Mich.; Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; New York; Philadelphia; San Francisco; Seattle, Portland and others.

Made in 1971, THX 1138 marked the stunning debut of one of the screen's most innovative filmmakers and was produced by Francis Ford Coppola and his revolutionary American Zoetrope studios. Produced at the height of the American independent movement, THX 1138 stars Robert Duvall in a thought-provoking and visually rich exploration of a theme that would repeat itself throughout Lucas's career: One man's quest to realize his own potential amid an oppressive society.

"THX 1138 is how I saw 1970. It was designed as a metaphor for the way we were living at the time," Lucas says. "The world has taken a strange twist from there, but I think the ideas that we examined in THX 1138 are still valid in the 21st century.

Coppola said, "We were intent on nothing less than changing the way movies were being made. The friends who made the move to San Francisco together with me in the late 1960s were remarkable filmmakers. Looking back, it was an extraordinary and defining experience for all of us."

In addition to the film, the DVD release of THX 1138: THE GEORGE LUCAS DIRECTOR’S CUT offers two new documentaries, including A Legacy of Filmmakers: The Early Years of American Zoetrope, a fascinating chronicle of the birth and rise of the radically different independent studio founded by director Francis Ford Coppola. THX 1138 had been positioned as the first in a slate of films from the newly established independent studio.

Although its original theatrical run was short, THX 1138 attracted an enormous following, particularly among college students, and became one of the most influential films of its time. Lucas says, "We wanted to make a different kind of film, and I hope that when audiences see it today on DVD they will find it to be as intriguing as we envisioned."

THX DVD Details

"We are thrilled to be releasing this landmark movie, which gave the world notice of what was to come from this legendary filmmaker," states Michael Radiloff, WHV's Vice President Theatrical Catalog Marketing. Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. said, "The DVD experience is going to be fantastic both for the film's longtime admirers and viewers who are discovering it for the first time. From both a visual and aural standpoint, THX 1138 is a remarkable and unique movie, and the DVD will present the experience with all of the nuance and complexity that George Lucas created."
